Cultural route and garden in Sydney

The Sydney Culture Walk is a self-guided route through Sydney. The total walking distance is 9.15 kilometres, with a stated walking time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Visits to the cultural institutions along the route are not included. For planning your day, it therefore makes sense to consider walking time and visits separately: the stated duration describes the walk, not the entire outing including sightseeing. This lets you allow extra time for institutions along the route without including it in the walking time alone.

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney covers 30 hectares and is home to the garden exhibition Cadi Jam Ora: First Encounters. It commemorates the Cadigal as the original inhabitants of Sydney’s city centre and their relationship with this land. The garden offers a range of tours, including the Aboriginal Heritage Tour, a free guided walk and customised heritage tours. Online bookings are required for the tours. Government House Sydney is also located in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. The house was completed in 1845 and designed by Edward Blore.
