Cumnock: Sculpture Trail, Memorial Park and Pool
Accommodation in Cumnock
Cumnock combines a sculpture trail with a memorial park, a swimming pool and local events. These attractions can offer very different focuses for your stay: a longer drive, a visit to the park or an event that suits a particular season or occasion.
Animals on Bikes: Route and Sculptures
The 120-kilometre Paddock Art sculpture trail, Animals on Bikes, runs through Molong, Cumnock and Yeoval to Dubbo Zoo. The route links several towns over a longer journey. The free self-drive tour can be enjoyed at any time along the sealed route and at your own pace, including from the window of a car or motorhome. Check road and access conditions before setting out, as they can change.
The trail features 111 two-metre-high structures as well as some smaller letterboxes. This means the route includes large, equally tall structures alongside smaller objects. The number of structures may change over time. If you want to plan your visit around outdoor art, Cumnock’s section of the trail offers a specific connection to a route that extends far beyond the town.
Memorial Park and Events
Cumnock War Memorial Park has mature trees, lawns, stone entrance gates and a sundial. Various memorial services are held there throughout the year. If you want to attend a particular service, check the date in advance. This lets you link your visit to the park with a specific occasion, rather than assuming it takes place on a set event day.
The one-day Cumnock Show is a small, family-oriented agricultural show. It celebrates and promotes local produce and talent in the Cumnock area. This sets it apart from the sculpture trail: the show focuses on a local event day and its program. Dates and program details are subject to change; check both before planning your trip around them.
Swimming Pool and Seasonal Planning
Cumnock Swimming Pool has a 25-metre main pool and a 9 m × 6 m toddlers’ pool. The facilities include barbecue areas, change rooms, a kiosk, picnic tables, toilets and a youth activity area. The swimming pool is currently closed for the season; dates are listed for the 2026/27 season. Check the season dates and current facilities before your visit, as amenities may change.
Cumnock Markets 2026
The Cumnock Markets 2026 are held at Crossroads Park in Cumnock, opposite the General Store. Offerings include fresh cakes and biscuits, jams, chutneys, pickled products, fresh produce and handmade goods. The selection may vary from market day to market day. Check the dates before setting out, and expect that the offerings may not be the same at every market.
Plan Your Travel Dates and Hotel Stay
The attractions differ in their timing: Animals on Bikes can be experienced at any time as a self-drive tour along the sealed route at your own pace; the show and markets are tied to specific dates, while the pool operates seasonally. If these attractions are important to your stay, check the relevant dates before booking your hotel. For the tour, you should also check road and access conditions before setting out.
