Vincentia’s white-sand beaches stretch for 6.5 kilometres from Huskisson in the north to Hyams Beach in the south. Greenfield Beach is part of Jervis Bay Marine Park. When deciding whether to choose Vincentia as a destination, your interests in beach activities, walking trails and cultural experiences may be a deciding factor.

Beaches and Coastal Activities

Nelson Beach has white sand and gentle waves, and is suitable for swimming and paddling. Blenheim Beach is suitable for snorkelling, and there is a reserve with a picnic area nearby. Barfleur Beach borders Plantation Point Reserve. Surf may occur there when the swell is strong; conditions depend on the weather and swell. For planning purposes, the beaches differ according to the specific activities: swimming and paddling at Nelson Beach, snorkelling at Blenheim Beach, or the possibility of surfing at Barfleur Beach when the swell is strong.

Walking Trails and Historical Connections

The 2.5-kilometre White Sands Walk begins at the Greenfield Beach picnic area in Vincentia and ends at Hyams Beach. From Nelson Beach, walkers can continue south on the White Sands Walk to Greenfield and Jervis Bay National Park. The White Sands Walk can be described by its length and endpoint at Hyams Beach; the Round the Bay Walk has different landmarks: it runs from Huskisson to Plantation Point and is accessible to people with varying abilities, as well as to prams and bicycles. In Vincentia, this walk passes a historic wharf from which wool was shipped from Goulburn to Sydney. The wharf adds a specific historical connection to wool transport along the walk. The return route via the Scribbly Gum Track passes through tall forest and woodland and ends at the Greenfield Beach picnic area above.

Beach Access

Orion Beach in Vincentia has a path that enables people with varying abilities to walk along the beach. Greenfield Beach is the most wheelchair-accessible beach in Jervis Bay National Park; a short boardwalk leads to the beach. Check current access conditions before visiting. If accessibility informs your plans, the beach path at Orion Beach and Greenfield’s wheelchair accessibility and short boardwalk are particularly relevant differences.

Culture and Public Gathering Places

The guided Greenfield Beach cultural tour explores Aboriginal cultural knowledge and stories in Jervis Bay National Park. It is available on request; tour dates are scheduled for 2026–2027. The hands-on Junior Ranger activity, “Greenfield Beach explorer,” is also for Junior Rangers and takes place in Jervis Bay National Park; tour dates are also scheduled for 2026–2027. The focus differs: the guided tour centres on cultural knowledge and stories, while the Junior Ranger activity offers a hands-on adventure.

The green space at Burton Street Mall is arranged around mature eucalyptus trees and serves as a place to play and meet, as well as a venue for markets and entertainment. If you are planning to attend a market or a specific event, check the dates beforehand, as the programme of public activities may change.
