Partizánske reveals different sides: the architectural history of the Baťa colony, significant religious architecture and a protected wetland. There is also a museum, an observatory, thermal attractions and mountain bike trails. When planning your trip, you can focus on architecture, nature or active experiences.

Baťa Heritage and Architecture

Červená ulica preserves the original residential buildings of the Baťa colony. The distinctive houses stand out for their unplastered brick walls and flat roofs. They give the street its own architectural character and evoke the history of the colony.

The Kvetinová topánka sculpture also reflects the area’s past: this two-metre-high work made from living flowers recalls Partizánske’s former importance as Slovakia’s shoe-making capital. The street and the sculpture tell this story in different ways—one through preserved residential buildings, the other through a floral monument.

One striking religious building is the Kostol Božského Srdca Ježišovho church. It was built between 1943 and 1949 in the Functionalist style under the direction of Zlín architect Vladimír Karfík, and has been a national cultural monument since 1995. Counted among Slovakia’s most significant religious buildings of modern architecture, it combines a clear historical context with distinctive details: inside is a monumental marble cross with a statue of Christ by Tibor Bártfay.

The Vodný hrad in Šimonovany, Partizánske, adds an older architectural note. Among manor houses, it is one of Slovakia’s oldest surviving Gothic-Renaissance noble residences. The Vodný hrad and its park are listed as national cultural monuments.

Wetland and Landscape

The Bielické bahná nature area is located in the Veľké Bielice district, covers 2.87 hectares and is protected at the third level. It has also been designated a site of European importance. The peatland habitat lies on peat soil; its distinctive features include a warm mineral spring and several small ponds fed by thermal water.

Bielické bahná is also a habitat for diverse bird species and rare wetland plants. These include marica pílkatá, a critically endangered species. Peat soil, the spring and the ponds together shape the character of this natural area; the birds and plants make the ecological dimension of the landscape visible. Alongside the evidence of the city’s history and architecture, this distinctive natural environment also takes centre stage.

Museum, Thermal Attractions and Activities

Mestské Múzeum Partizánske hosts exhibitions, discussion sessions and lectures. It is a five-minute walk from the city centre—a useful point of reference for anyone planning to include a museum visit in their schedule.

The observatory in Partizánske, in the Malé Bielice district, opened to the public at the end of August 1988. This historical date adds another perspective on the city’s development to its cultural attractions.

Aquacentrum Termály Malé Bielice has six pools: two indoor pools, including a relaxation pool and a hydromassage pool, and four heated outdoor relaxation pools. Check these facilities again before your trip. At Termálne kúpele Malé Bielice, thermal mineral water at 43°C rises to the surface and is used for regeneration and relaxation.

Baťove traily are mountain bike trails in the forests, directly accessible from Partizánske. They offer different difficulty levels and include technical sections, tight turns and jumps. If you are planning a ride, you can take these differences into account when choosing the right challenge.

Traditional events in Partizánske include the Májový kultúrny festival and Kultúrne leto. If you would like to include one of the festivals in your travel plans, check the latest event dates in advance.

Further afield in the Partizánske region is Brodziansky kaštieľ, an attraction surrounded by an English-style park. It expands the view beyond the sights within the town. By weighing up the town’s history, the landscape and other regional attractions, you can choose different focuses for your stay.
