Všemina combines marked hiking trails with historic buildings, monuments, and activities around the reservoir. Depending on what interests you on your trip, you can focus on the landscape, local history, or outdoor activities. The routes described lead to viewpoints and places of interest; the church and monuments represent different chapters of history.

Hiking Trails and Outdoor Destinations

The Všeminský trojlístek hiking trail network has 14 rest stops for hikers. Marked trails lead to places of interest and viewpoints around Všemina. One named destination along the Red Clover loop is the St. Hubertus Monument. It stands at the highest point on the edge of a meadow and lies on Všemina’s most important and longest hiking loop.

There are different route descriptions for reaching the monument. From Hranice, a red-marked trail leads there; the walk takes about 30 to 40 minutes. An alternative route passes the hotel and follows the yellow-marked trail to the chapel on Papradná, then continues along a red-marked trail. The starting point and route therefore differ. If you want to plan your hike around a particular destination, these details can help you distinguish between the routes described.

Reservoir and Horse-Riding Activities

The Všemina reservoir is a multipurpose reservoir that serves, among other things, for individual recreation and fish farming. Swimming and water sports at the reservoir are at your own risk. The body of water thus serves recreational purposes as well as another purpose specified for the local reservoir.

Ranch Všemina offers horseback rides and trips into nature accompanied by an experienced instructor. A day at the ranch can also include horse care and training. Weekend courses focus on riding lessons. Check the availability of these activities before your trip.

Church, Monuments, and History

The parish Church of St. John of Nepomuk was built between 1780 and 1784 as a simple Baroque structure made of rubble stone and bricks. Its new organ was completed in 2010 and solemnly blessed on March 5, 2011. The construction period, architectural style, and history of the organ offer different points of historical interest.

The Železov Monument can also be identified by its specific structural features: it consists of two steel plates, each 2.4 meters high. Its defining feature is a cross of St. John of Nepomuk, oriented toward the church in Všemina. The monument and the church are thus explicitly linked.

Hrádek, a former castle site, lies between Všemina and Dešná. Archaeological investigations there revealed a settlement of the Púchov culture and traces of a palisade fortification. For a historical view of the area, this former castle site can therefore be distinguished from the later-built parish church and the monuments in the village.

Annual Traditions

A traditional New Year’s Eve hike leads to Kámen na Kršlu and marks the farewell to the past year. At Všeminský kotlík 2025, the second edition of a wild-goulash cooking competition, the prepared dishes were judged both by a panel of experts and through a public vote. These examples represent different local occasions: a year-end hiking tradition and a competition that involved the public alongside the expert panel.
