For a stay in Bělov, you can combine active trails with distinctive reminders of local history. The Stezky Branou do Chřibů give the area an activity-focused appeal; the Bělovská zvonice and a stone cross offer a different perspective on its history. When choosing your destination, you can weigh up whether you mainly want to spend time on marked trails or are interested in the community’s architectural and commemorative landmarks.

Stezky Branou do Chřibů: Circular Trails and Activities

The Stezky Branou do Chřibů trail network comprises a total of 22 km of marked circular trails. It connects Otrokovice with Bělov, Nová Dědina and Žlutava. The 22 km refers to the extent of the network, not the length of a single circular trail. This places Bělov within a trail network that extends beyond the municipality and includes connections to three other municipalities.

You can hike, go Nordic walking and run on the Stezky Branou do Chřibů; the trails can also be ridden by mountain bike. When planning your trip, you can choose between an activity on foot and using a mountain bike.

Trail Types and Landscape

The trails run mainly along low-traffic roads, farm tracks and forest paths. When planning, the distance and the types of trails answer different questions: the 22 km refers to the extent of the network, while the trail types describe its predominant character.

Bělovská zvonice and the Stone Cross

The Bělovská zvonice is a masonry structure on a hill and is considered an essential symbol of the municipality. It was probably built in 1775 by the Kvasice estate. Its symbolic significance for the municipality is clearly stated; the attribution of its construction remains explicitly probable.

A stone cross stands at the intersection of the Bělov–Kvasice and Bělov–Otrokovice roads, near a bicycle shelter. It was erected at the instigation of František Daněk from Bělov. It is dated 1847–49 (?); the final digit is blurred and illegible. An inscription on the cross reads: “Bělovu odkaz (dar) pudmistra Františka Daňka”. It describes the cross as a bequest or gift from František Daněk to Bělov. The two landmarks offer different insights into local history: the zvonice is considered a symbol of the municipality, while the cross bears a dedication attributed to a named person.

The Weir on the Morava

The weir on the Morava is also located within the cadastral area of the municipality of Bělov. It raises the river’s water level by 2.8 metres, creating the potential for a small hydroelectric power plant. The rise in water level describes a specific change to the river; the associated potential adds a technical perspective to the area’s features.
