Jalubí can be explored through its architectural and local history, as well as through its leisure activities. Baroque religious buildings, a protected toll stone and the windmill form the historical focus; mini golf, beach volleyball and the seasonal outdoor pool add to the options. A stay here therefore combines cultural history with activities in the town.

Churches and historical sites

Construction of Jalubí’s present-day Baroque church began in 1750 under Abbot Antonín Haucke. On the hill above Jalubí, beside the old road to Velehrad, stands a High Baroque chapel built in 1737. The chapel therefore predates the start of construction of the present-day church. A named route also leads to a church destination: “Klášterní stezky: Jalubí” leads to the late Baroque “Church of St John the Baptist”. This lets you explore the architectural history through different dates and follow the route to a specific church destination.

The protected toll stone points to a trade route that once passed through Jalubí. In 1998, it was moved from its original location outside the town and placed beneath a shelter on the main road. An information board provides further details. When visiting, the monument and the board help distinguish its current location from its historical connection: the stone stands on the main road, while its significance relates to the former trade route.

Windmill and routes

The windmill combines a long history of use with a later reconstruction. A mill was in operation by 1875 at the latest; the original windmill was demolished in 1938. The windmill is a replica built between 2007 and 2009 on the exposed foundations of the original. This distinguishes the original from the replica: the date 1875 refers to the earlier mill, while the construction period from 2007 to 2009 refers to the replica. After the paved path ends, access continues along a field path; along the way, there are views of the Chřiby and Bílé Karpaty mountains. For practical guidance, the transition from the paved path to the field path is the key feature of the access route.

A cycling tour follows cycle route 5050 to Jalubí. This identifies the connection to the town for cycle tourists; the historic buildings and leisure activities are local points of interest, while route 5050 provides a reference for getting there.

Leisure activities in town

The leisure activities also vary by type. The mini golf course has ten holes with obstacles of varying difficulty. Beach football is also possible on the beach volleyball court, giving you a choice of two sports at the same facility. By comparison, mini golf involves holes and obstacles, while beach sports offer a choice between volleyball and football. These differences can help you choose an activity to suit your preference.

During the summer months, Jalubí’s outdoor pool offers a stainless-steel pool with swimming lanes, as well as a children’s pool with water features such as spray jets and a slide. The two areas have distinct features: the main pool has lanes, while water play is the focus of the children’s pool. If you are planning a visit to the outdoor pool, check in advance whether this seasonal facility will be open during your trip.
