If you are looking for a hotel in Přestavlky U Dnešic, the local attractions offer different starting points for planning your trip: architectural history in Přestavlky, individual historic buildings in Horní and Dolní Lažany, and the “Pohodová” cycling route, which passes through Přestavlky as well as Dolní and Horní Lažany. You can weigh up whether church and castle history, the character of the villages, or cycling should be the deciding factor for your stay. This lets you tailor your choice to your main interest.

Church and Castle History

The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul (Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla) dates from the first half of the 14th century. It was remodelled in the Baroque style in 1680–1682 and newly furnished in 1685. The three dates mark different stages: its medieval origins, its later remodelling and its new furnishings. This helps prevent the church’s history from being reduced to a single year of construction. Visits are possible by appointment and during services. Be sure to arrange visits by appointment in advance.

Přestavlky Castle stands on the site of a former farmstead belonging to Chotěšov Monastery. Opposite, in the open space, stands a copy of the statue of Saint Liborius on a Baroque plinth. The castle site and the statue offer two different historical points of reference: the site’s earlier history on one hand, and a work of art in the open space on the other. It is worth distinguishing between them: the statue is a copy; it is specifically the plinth that is described as Baroque.

The Character of Horní and Dolní Lažany

Horní Lažany lies below the wooded Černé vrchy massif; this part of the village is also home to a wooden bell tower dating from 1899. In Dolní Lažany, several farmsteads are clustered around a small pond. A masonry chapel dating from 1905 has been preserved within the enclosure of a farmstead. The buildings can be distinguished by material and date—wood and 1899 in Horní Lažany, masonry and 1905 in Dolní Lažany—while the pond and farmstead layout describes Dolní Lažany’s distinctive settlement pattern.

Cycling Route Through the Places Mentioned

For cycling enthusiasts, the “Pohodová” route of the Radbuza Microregion is a separate point of interest: it passes through Přestavlky, as well as Dolní Lažany and Horní Lažany. For planning purposes, it is useful to distinguish between the route and the places themselves: the route passes through these three named places, while the historic buildings are each associated with specific localities. Cycling can thus be considered as a route-based activity, while architectural history can be explored through the local points of interest.

Check the current route signage before setting off. A municipal notice dated November 9, 2020, mentions a bicycle service point in Horní Lažany with an easy-to-read map and the tools needed for bicycle repairs. If you plan to use it, confirm the service point’s current status locally.
