Hradec U Stoda brings together several different travel interests: St. George’s Church and its complex, the Slavic Hrad between two waterways, and a flooded former quarry. The Radbuza Cycling Route also passes through the town, and Hradec u Stoda railway station is part of the integrated transport system. If you’re looking for a hotel for a trip to Hradec U Stoda, these features can help you choose a location that suits your interests.

Church Complex and Buildings

St. George’s Church in Hradec dates from the 14th century and is a cultural monument. The complex is situated on a hill and includes a bell tower, a rectory and two farm buildings. Southwest of the church, at a crossroads, stands the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk. Another notable structure is the three-arched stone railway viaduct spanning the valley between Hradec and the Slavic Hrad. The town’s varied architectural features include both a church complex and its buildings, and a railway viaduct.

Slavic Hrad and Burial Ground

The Slavic Hrad is a significant, two-part archaeological site covering about 6 hectares. It lies on a promontory between the Radbuza and the Touškovský potok. The waterways and promontory shape the setting of the archaeological site, while the hill in Hradec is the main feature of the church complex’s location.

The burial ground offers another distinct archaeological highlight. It comprises around 40 to 50 burial mounds, about 20 of which are clearly visible in a spruce and pine forest.

Flooded Quarry and Walking Routes

On the outskirts of Hradec is a former quarry that now serves as a bathing spot. In summer, there is a kiosk selling refreshments. This is a seasonal service; if you plan to buy refreshments, check availability in advance. The quarry is not accessible by car. From the village square, you can walk there along the Touškovský potok. A route also leads upstream from a crossroads in Hradec to the flooded quarry. The rock face in the quarry is up to eight metres high.
