Dvorec offers travelers interested in railway and industrial history specific themes to help plan their trip. These include the Výtopna Nepomuk model railway, historic railway buildings, the history of the ironworks, and educational trails. The themes are clearly distinct, focusing on model engineering, former uses, and named waypoints.

Model Railway and Railway Buildings

The historic railway and model railway Výtopna Nepomuk is located at Rožmitálská 63 in Dvorec, Plzeňský kraj. Visitors can see a working TT-scale model railway layout covering an area of 24.5 m², built to a scale of 1:120 with a track gauge of 12 mm. The scale describes the ratio to the real-life original: the dimensions shown are 120 times smaller. The area, track gauge, and scale therefore describe different features of the layout. Exhibition details may change as the collection develops.

Historic railway buildings are also part of the railway heritage. A former railway water station on the line to Dvorec was built at the end of the 19th century and has been largely preserved in its authentic form. Its unusual hexagonal glass blocks are particularly striking. A former railway depot on the line to Dvorec retains its original, unadorned Neo-Renaissance appearance. The water station and the depot represent different structures and details of railway history.

Ironworks and Huťský rybník

The historic ironworks stood on the boundary between Dvorec and Vrčeň, on the Myslívský potok. When iron production ended in the 1880s, the buildings were put to new uses: they first became an oil mill and were converted into a flour mill in the 1920s. The sequence of iron production, oil milling, and flour milling gives the industrial history a clear timeline. Buildings of the former ironworks still stand today on the pond dam in the Železná Huť area.

Huťský rybník is linked to this history: its construction began in 1785 as a new water source for the ironworks. The pond covers 5.7 hectares and is up to five metres deep in places. These figures give a sense of its area and maximum depth; its origins also show the role water supply played in the former iron production.

Educational Trails and Choosing a Theme

The Helenka educational trail leads from the weir on the Úslava to the Včelařská naučná stezka. The latter has ten stations in total. This identifies a specific starting point, a destination, and the number of stations. The educational trails have a different focus from railway and industrial history: here, the route of Helenka and the stations of the Včelařská naučná stezka take centre stage.

A simple comparison can help you choose a travel theme: Výtopna Nepomuk focuses on model engineering and its measurements; the history of the ironworks shows a sequence of changing uses; and the educational trails offer orientation through named waypoints and ten stations. This makes it easy to choose what interests you about Dvorec—railways, industrial history, or educational trails—without treating these distinct themes as the same.
