Accommodation in Stojków
Several perspectives come together in Stojków: its development into a summer resort and tourist village, historic buildings, and routes associated with different periods. If you are considering a hotel stay, you can decide whether you are most interested in local history, individual architectural landmarks, or specific route details. The historic promenades belong to a different period from the recreational cycling route and the horse trail stage.
Summer Resort and Forest Promenades
Stojków developed into a summer resort and tourist village in the 1840s. As early as 1845, the Waldweg promenade was laid out from the spa town through the town forest to Stojków. Before 1882, two forest promenades also led there, an upper one and a lower one. The chronology provides a specific framework for this development: the Waldweg is named as early as 1845, while the upper and lower promenades are recorded as two distinct paths before 1882. This makes it possible to trace the village’s tourism history both through a specific path name and through the distinction between the two promenades.
Historic Buildings in the Village
The buildings in Stojków that have survived to this day were built in the second half of the 19th century and the first years of the 20th century. Some individual buildings can be dated more precisely. By house no. 17 is a wayside shrine from the early 19th century, predating the above-mentioned building stock. The holiday home “Zacisze” in Stojków, at number 42, dates from around the turn of the 20th century.
The bridge over the Biała Lądecka in Stojków also dates from the early 20th century. The railway station building is dated to around 1910. Together, these examples illustrate different periods: the wayside shrine by house no. 17 from the early 19th century, the holiday home “Zacisze” at number 42 from around the turn of the century, the bridge over the Biała Lądecka from the early 20th century, and the railway station building, dated to around 1910. If you are interested in architectural history, you can compare these individual landmarks with the broader period in which the surviving buildings were constructed.
Recreational Cycling Route Through Stojków
The easy recreational cycling route “Do Lądka – Zdroju” runs from Stronie Śląskie via Strachocin and Stojków to Lądek-Zdrój. One way is listed as 6 km and 45 minutes. Stojków lies between Strachocin and Lądek-Zdrój in the route described; the distance and time refer to a one-way trip, not automatically a return journey. If you use the route description for navigation, check current route conditions before setting off.
A Longer Horse Trail Stage
The first stage of the Sudecki Szlak Konny PTTK runs from Lądek-Zdrój to Schronisko pod Śnieżnikiem and is listed as taking eight hours. Its starting point is at the former site of Agriturismo Słoneczna Dolina in Stojków 46. For planning purposes, this is a different timescale from the cycling route: eight hours refers to the stage, while the cycling route is listed as 45 minutes each way. If you plan to do this stage, check current trail conditions beforehand. This lets you distinguish the two routes by their stated durations without treating them as comparable activities.
