Discover Trollenhagen
Accommodation in Trollenhagen
Trollenhagen can be explored through a range of topics: the architecture of the village church, the book wall in the community centre and individual events from 2025. This gives you a concrete impression of the cultural and community aspects that shape the town as you plan your trip.
Culture and Community Spaces
Trollenhagen village church is a rectangular fieldstone building dating from the second half of the 14th century. Brick decorations provide a distinctive accent. Its design, materials and construction period make the church a vivid example of the town’s architectural history. Nearby, in Podewall, there is also a half-timbered church made of oak with a mansard roof—a different type of building from Trollenhagen’s fieldstone church.
The Dörfer3eck e.V. has set up a book wall in Trollenhagen’s community centre. You can browse, exchange books and spend some time there. It combines a specific activity with a space used by the village community. If you are interested in local gathering places, the book wall offers a different way to experience Trollenhagen than the historic church.
Two dated events offer a glimpse of community life. At Advent in Trollenhagen, residents of Buchhof, Podewall and Trollenhagen met outside the community centre on 5 December 2025 to sing Christmas carols together. Uwe Rosenow accompanied the singing on guitar. At the St Martin’s Day festival on 11 November 2025, visitors met at the “Kinnerstuw” daycare centre in Trollenhagen. The lantern procession went to Trollenhagen playground, where sharing was the focus.

A Separate Look at the Mecklenburg Lake District
The Mecklenburg Lake District also offers its own natural and cultural attractions. The MĂĽritz National Park is characterised by forests, bogs, lakes and wide meadows. Its hiking trail covers different landscape types and points of interest over nine stages: the route runs along lakes, through ancient forests, past inland dunes and to the source of the Havel. Certified nature and landscape guides also offer informative tours, including guided visits to the UNESCO World Heritage beech forest of Serrahn and tours from the water. The hiking trail and guided tours offer different perspectives on the national park.
Another natural attraction in the Mecklenburg Lake District is the Damerower Werder Bison Reserve. It lies on a peninsula in Lake Kölpinsee and in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park; visitors can observe bison there. The reserve also has a forest discovery trail with climbing opportunities, an ant house, and an exhibition with touch-and-see panels and a dendrophone. The experience therefore combines animal watching with various stops along the discovery trail.
Other regional points of interest include the Rechlin Aviation Technical Museum in Rechlin Nord and the waterways starting from Neustrelitz. From Neustrelitz’s town harbour, waterway travellers can explore the Müritz National Park and the Strelitz Small Lakes region via the Upper Havel Waterway. These destinations add aviation history and an exploration from the water to the picture of the Mecklenburg Lake District.
