If you’re looking for a hotel in Irschenberg, you can plan your stay around a specific interest: coffee, church art, the Leonhardi procession, views or cycling. Each offers a different focus. The coffee experience tour puts the work of the master roaster at the center, the autumn custom takes place on a fixed date each year, and the viewpoint and cycling tour offer two different ways to spend time outdoors. You can plan your travel dates around what you’d like to experience in Irschenberg.

Coffee Experience and Getting There

DINZLER offers public coffee experience tours at Irschenberg once a month. Bookings and registration must be completed online in advance. The tour takes you through the DINZLER Coffee Experience World and offers insights into the work of the master roaster. If you plan to take part, check the date and register before your trip. The DINZLER restaurant is right by the Irschenberg exit on the A8 and has around 800 seats. Irschenberg itself is just a few hundred meters from the Munich–Salzburg motorway.

Church Art and the Leonhardi Procession

The branch church of St. Leonhard in Reichersdorf is a Late Gothic, four-bay hall church with a slightly narrower altar area closed on three sides. The plastered tuff-stone building was built and consecrated in 1496. Inside the church is a small Late Gothic winged altar dedicated to St. Achatius, made by Erasmus Grasser in 1506. It depicts the saint enthroned and surrounded by angels, along with panel paintings of the legend of St. Achatius. The dates mark two events just ten years apart: the altar followed the church’s consecration.

Since 1684, the Church of St. Leonhard in Reichersdorf has been the focal point of an annual Leonhardi procession held in autumn. The procession takes place every year on the second Sunday in October. If you’d like to plan your stay around this custom, check the date for the year in question.

The pilgrimage chapel in Wilparting is dedicated to Saints Marinus and Anian. According to tradition, the Irish itinerant bishop Marinus and his deacon Anian were martyred at the site in 697, where the Wilparting pilgrimage church now stands.

Views and Cycling

The Irschenberg viewpoint is a pavilion on a small hill above the A8. From there, you can look out over the Inn Valley, toward Mount Wendelstein and the Wilparting pilgrimage church. The viewpoint is a short distance from Irschenberg village square via StegangerstraĂźe. The Irschenberg route brochure also recommends a detour there.

Another option is a cycling tour called “Irschenberg.” It is 8.7 kilometers long, has 57 meters of elevation gain and is rated easy. The starting point is the Sportstüberl of TSV Irschenberg; from there, the route passes through the A8 underpass. Hazards along the route include a short stretch on St2077 and two crossings of B472. The easy rating comes alongside specifically identified road sections; both are part of the route profile.
