Six indoor swimming pools, a 12-hectare spa park, cultural sites and routes for hiking and cycling give Turčianske Teplice District several distinct travel highlights.

Swimming Pools and Spa Park

The Spa&Aquapark has six indoor swimming pools available to visitors. There are two more pools in the outdoor area of the aquapark. If you want to focus your trip particularly on swimming, you can consider the indoor pools and outdoor area as separate options.

The central spa park covers 12 ha and is designated a cultural monument. You can therefore take both its size and its protected cultural status into account when planning your trip.

Cultural Sites and Local History

The birthplace of Mikuláš Galanda is a national cultural monument. Modrý kúpeľ, also known today as Zlatý kúpeľ or Royal Bath, is also a cultural monument. The different names can help you recognize the place by its various names.

The Ján Kollár Museum is located at the original site of Ján Kollár’s birthplace. Visits are possible by prior arrangement. The exhibition traces the poet’s life, from his birth and studies to his work as a priest.

In Mošovce, the Museum of Crafts is housed in the Révay family mausoleum, built in 1861. It displays tools from historic crafts practiced in the municipality. The history of a building and the local traditions of work therefore feature as distinct cultural themes here. The Mošovský jarmok is another part of this heritage: it is a traditional fair. If you want to experience it, check the event dates before your trip.

Cycling and Hiking

The Znievska cycling route starts on Hájska Street near the Turčianske Teplice, aut. st. bike bus stop. It runs from Turčianske Teplice to Martin and through the western part of the Turiec Basin, below the Lúčanská Malá Fatra. If you want to include the bike bus in your plans, check the timetable in advance.

The Turčianska cycling route passes through Mošovce, Turčianske Teplice and Horná Štubňa. The section between Turčianske Teplice and Horná Štubňa is almost flat. When comparing the cycling routes, different features may be useful: for the Znievska cycling route, consider its route to Martin and its starting point near the bike bus stop; for the cycling route, consider the almost flat section between the two towns. Hiking trails also lead from Turčianske Teplice to Vyšehrad.

A cycling route runs through Budiš and continues through the forest to Štyri chotáre. As route conditions can change, check the current situation before setting out. The Vajcovka spring in Budiš is freely accessible to the public, and there is a shelter above it. Check access conditions again before visiting. The forests around Budiš are often visited in summer and autumn because of the mushrooms found there.
