Mogoşoaia combines garden and architectural history with art and supervised horse-riding activities. When planning your trip, it is worth distinguishing between the different highlights and their respective conditions. This will help you decide which themes you want to shape your stay.

Historic Park and Garden

The park, lake, orchard and historic garden cover a total of 36.4 hectares and are designated historic monuments. The landscape is therefore an integral part of the site's historic character. The English park, with Italian-style gardens, was laid out in 1921–1922 under the direction of Martha Bibescu. This combination gives the grounds a distinctive connection to the history of garden design: their cultural character reflects not only the size of the estate, but also the combination of different garden styles. Visitors interested in Mogoşoaia primarily for its historic heritage can consider the park design and buildings as two distinct aspects of the site.

Art and Exhibition Spaces

The palace houses the Liana and Dan Nasta donation, a comparative art collection of around 300 works. The palace's ground-floor rooms and outbuildings host about ten temporary exhibitions each year, featuring essayistic or contemporary art; the number may change over time. Another named exhibition space is the Cuhnia, the former princely kitchen. Today, it serves as an exhibition space. The collection, temporary exhibitions and current use of the Cuhnia offer different points of interest for those interested in art and cultural history. The Cuhnia connects a former function with its present-day use, while the Nasta donation is distinguished by its comparative art collection.

Buildings with Different Functions

The Gheorghe Bibescu Chapel is the family necropolis of the last owners of the Mogoşoaia estate and their relatives. The Sfântul Gheorghe Church was built by Constantin Brâncoveanu in 1688. The Gheţăria was the palace's former ice house. These buildings can be understood through their different historic roles: the chapel is connected to the family history of the last owners, the church is defined by its construction date and patron, and the Gheţăria points to a former function of the palace. Together with the Cuhnia, whose former role as a princely kitchen has given way to its current use as an exhibition space, they show how varied the historical associations of individual buildings can be.

Riding Lessons and Horse Rides

Academia Ecvestra Mogosoaia offers riding courses and lessons for children and adults of all ages and skill levels. Instruction is provided by instructors and trainers. Organised horse rides are a separate offering: they are for riders who can already control a horse from the saddle. A specialised instructor accompanies the rides, which last up to 60 minutes. The distinction between lessons and rides is important when planning, as the rides require the riding experience described above, while lessons are offered for various ages and skill levels. Scheduling and booking arrangements may change. If one of these activities is important to your trip, check the current arrangements with the provider in advance.

Flower Growing and Children's Art Workshop

The Serele Nicolae Bibescu are now used for flower growing and an art education workshop for children. As well as historic and artistic themes, the listed uses therefore include flower growing and creative educational activities. The workshop programme may change. If a particular workshop is important to your plans, check the current date and programme in advance.
