Getting your bearings in Bragadiru

Bragadiru offers several distinct points of reference for planning a trip: its location on National Road DN 6 Bucureşti–Alexandria, archaeological sites on the Ciorogârla and Sabar rivers, Bragadiru Independenței Park, and a monument in front of the town hall. These places appeal to different interests—from landscapes and local history to outdoor recreation.

Road and archaeological sites

Bragadiru lies on National Road DN 6 Bucureşti–Alexandria.

The Bragadiru – La Fosta Cărămidărie 2 site lies on the left bank of the Ciorogârla, opposite the former brickworks, and extends to the boundary of the Măgurele commune. Another part lies on the right bank, east of Bragadiru. The description therefore links one riverbank to the former brickworks site and a commune boundary; the other part is located separately, on the right bank east of the town.

Another archaeological site, Bragadiru – Staţia de Epurare, lies on both banks of the Sabar. It is east of the bridge at Șoseaua Bucureşti–Cornetu and Șoseaua Alexandrueu, in the area of the wastewater treatment plant. Unlike the first site description, which also mentions a former brickworks and the boundary with Măgurele, here the Sabar, the bridge and the treatment plant define the geographical setting. Those interested in Bragadiru’s spatial history will find two clearly distinct riverside locations here.

Green space and outdoor activities

Bragadiru Independenței Park is a green space suited to recreation and outdoor activities. It has sports areas, a children’s playground and benches. This means that the same green space offers both areas for exercise and places to sit. Which of these facilities is most important to you depends on what you would like to do during your stay. Check local conditions before visiting, especially if you plan to use a particular facility.

Monument and culture

A monument stands in the park in front of Bragadiru Town Hall, incorporating elements of the memorial cross to the heroes who fell in the First World War. The monument lists the names of heroes who fell in the 1916–1918 war. For visitors interested in commemorating this period, the park location and the names on the monument are two specific aspects to focus on.

Another cultural reference is the performance of the play “FROZEN, REGATUL ÎNGHEȚAT” by THEATER DU SOLEIL at Casa de Cultura Mihai Eminescu. It took place on 19 May 2018. This is a dated historical event; if you are planning a cultural outing today, check a current programme.

Start with the documented features of the place, then compare the hotel options that suit your personal needs.
