Church and archaeological sites

The Biserica cu hramul „Buna Vestire“ de la Corbeanca is located in the centre of Corbeanca and is a church building from the modern era. Its nave has no lateral apses; the apse of the altar is set back. These features describe the building’s form precisely and offer travellers interested in church architecture a distinctive way to explore the site.

The church is associated with a modern-era necropolis containing four excavated tomb structures. The building’s form and the archaeological findings therefore represent different aspects of the same connection to the church: the building itself on the one hand, and the excavated tomb structures on the other.

Another archaeological site is the area known as „Situl arheologic de la Corbeanca (Mecheaua) – Staţia de pompare“. It lies on the north bank of the Cociovaliştea River, southeast of the hamlet of Mecheaua, and extends to the border with Săftica. The riverbank, hamlet and border define the area’s boundaries. This sets its geographical location apart from the church’s central position.

Casa Frusina and cultural activities

Casa Frusina was built in Corbeanca in the 1920s–1930s by Frusina Nicolae. Its construction period and builder provide a specific historical point of reference in the town. Visits can be arranged by appointment through the Asociația „Monumente Renăscute“.

A report dated 1 September 2026 mentions exhibitions, concerts and hands-on workshops at Casa Frusina. These include activities where children learn how peasant houses were built. The programme described therefore combines cultural events with a practical topic related to traditional building methods.

In September 2025, the modernist extension Hambarul, inspired by traditional architecture, was described as a future multifunctional cultural space. Once completed, it is intended to host performances, concerts and educational activities.

Lakes, forests and recreation in the municipality

The municipality of Corbeanca is home to a chain of lakes comprising Valea Mocanului, Valea Vârtop and Valea Cocivaliștea. The municipality’s forests Pădurea Tamași, Pădurea Corbeanca and Pădurea Petrești are also part of Codrii Vlăsiei. These names refer to different water and forest features at the municipal level.

Parcul Corbeanca serves the municipality’s residents as a place for relaxation and recreation. While the lakes and forests describe the landscape, the park is primarily associated with relaxation and recreation.

Fishing at Lake Corbeanca

Pescarium Corbeanca is a fishing complex on the shore of Lake Corbeanca. In 2022, the associated fishing area was reported to cover 22 hectares, with a depth ranging from three to ten metres. These figures provide specific details for travellers who are making fishing a focus of their stay. This topic can therefore be distinguished from the broader references to lakes, forests and recreation.
