Prusinovice can be explored through a range of interests: Tvrz Hrádek and the churches represent architectural history, Dubina offers nature, while trails and the Rohálovské duatlon bring activity to your itinerary. If you are looking for a hotel for your stay, you can first consider whether historic buildings, the landscape, or a sporting event will determine your choice of destination.

Tvrz Hrádek: Fortifications, Setting, and Design

Tvrz Hrádek was built in the 14th century and is a significant medieval fortified site associated with a vanished village. It stands on a spur of land above the confluence of two streams; both flow from south to north and join the Kozrálka. The irregular oval core of the ruins measures about 30 × 20 metres. It is surrounded by a continuous moat and a lowered, broad rampart. The site has been protected as a cultural monument since 3 May 1958.

Churches and Historic Monuments

The Church of St. Catherine (sv. Kateřiny) has also been protected as a cultural monument since 3 May 1958. Its foundations are medieval; the tower dates from 1601, the nave from the 18th century, and the chancel and transept from 1866. These details refer to different parts of the building and periods, not to a single date of construction.

Distinct from it is the church of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (Českobratrská církev evangelická). It was solemnly consecrated on 9 November 1856. It contains valuable tombstones belonging to the Prusinovský family of Víckov. The two churches offer different historical points of interest: at St. Catherine’s, the focus is on the building phases, while at the Evangelical church, it is on the consecration and tombstones.

Boží muka is a wayside shrine from the 18th century, prominently situated in the fields near Prusinovice and serving as an important landmark. The shrine has also been protected as a cultural monument since 3 May 1958. The Dřevěný kříž is a carving from the late 18th century. The Dubina natural monument complements the historical attractions with natural oak-hornbeam woodland and the presence of the European bird cherry. The featured points of interest therefore range from buildings and carved works to specific characteristics of the vegetation.

Trails and the Rohálovské duatlon

A hiking route passes through Prusinovice from Kostelec u Holešova via Pacetluky to Líšná and back. Marked bridleways also run around Prusinovice, passing Hrádek and Boží muka. These are different types of activity: a hiking route through the town and bridleways in the surrounding area that pass two historic sites. Check the trail conditions before travelling.

The Rohálovské duatlon combines a 10 km run with a 50 km mountain bike race. The running leg takes place in February in Prusinovice under the name Rohálovská desítka; dates may change. The second leg follows in April of the same year as the RAAB FORCE Rohálovská 50ka. Dates and event names may also change. In the 2027 edition, the mountain bike route runs around Prusinovice through the neighbouring villages of Pacetluky, Karlovice, Líšná-nad Jankovicemi, Dobrotice, Holešov, and Tučapy. It has about 1,000 metres of elevation gain and follows forest and field tracks; the route may vary from one edition to another. If you are planning your stay around the race, check the specific event dates before travelling.
