When looking for hotels in Słupsk, it is worth considering the themes of your trip. The region offers natural attractions such as Słowiński National Park and the „Dolina Słupi“ Landscape Park, as well as cycling, hiking and kayaking routes and museums in Swołowo and Kluki. Your plans will depend on whether you are mainly interested in seeing landscapes, following a particular route or exploring regional culture.

Nature and landscapes in the region

Słowiński National Park is home to shifting dunes, considered one of the few formations of their kind in Europe. The park is designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve under the Man and the Biosphere Programme and has numerous marked hiking trails. The dunes offer a distinctive landscape attraction, while the hiking trails provide another way to include the region’s natural scenery in your travel plans.

The „Dolina Słupi“ Landscape Park also offers a distinctive connection with nature: it is the only valley landscape park in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The Słupia River flows through the park. This makes it possible to distinguish the park by its connection to the river and its landscape, while the shifting dunes in Słowiński National Park offer a different natural attraction.

Cycling, hiking and kayaking routes

Droga Książęca is a 17-kilometre cycling route. It runs from Słupsk through Zębowo, Radęcin, Gać and Swołowo to Starkowo. For a longer hiking route, there is the yellow Dolina Słupi trail: it is 95 kilometres long and runs from Ustka through Bydlino, Słupsk, Dębnica Kaszubska, Konradowo, Gałąźnia Mała and Gałęzowo to Bytów. The two routes differ both in activity and length.

The Jantarowy, Zwiniętych Torów and Słowińców cycling routes are part of the EuroVelo 10 section in Słupsk County. If you are planning a cycling trip, check the current route: signs and alignments may change.

Another option to consider when planning your trip is the kayaking route on the Słupia. It is 133.2 kilometres long and ends in Słupsk. Along the route, there are ten landing sites with commemorative obelisks and bivouac areas. Since individual facilities may change, it is a good idea to check the latest information about the route and landing sites before setting out.

Museums and regional culture

The Muzeum Kultury Ludowej Pomorza in Swołowo offers a visiting route through three farmsteads and two buildings in the village. When visiting selected permanent and temporary exhibitions, guests can also take part in museum workshops and demonstrations of traditional crafts. The route gives the visit a clearly defined scope; workshops and demonstrations are linked to selected exhibitions.

The Muzeum Wsi Słowińskiej in Kluki presents the material and ethnographic culture of the Slovincians. Together with the museum in Swołowo, it offers a contrast between a visiting route with selected craft activities and a focus on Slovincian culture.

Pomerania in a broader context

Pomerania is the broader travel destination. The Pomeranian Voivodeship has nine landscape parks with a total area of almost 168,000 hectares; seven of them lie entirely within the voivodeship’s borders. The „Dolina Słupi“ Landscape Park was established in 1981 in the Słupia River basin and along the river’s middle and lower course. Its purpose was to protect natural assets and a rich cultural heritage and preserve their balance. Słowiński National Park has 131 kilometres of hiking trails. Check the latest park information before your trip, as trail lengths may change.
