Culture and design at the Dolina Charlotty

Bali Indah brings together several elements that create its Balinese theme: the complex includes replicas of Balinese temples, traditional houses, sculptures, exotic plants, a theatre and exhibition rooms. The site was designed by artists from Indonesia. There is also a restaurant serving authentic Balinese cuisine. The theme therefore extends beyond individual buildings to include art, plants, exhibitions and food. If you would like to include cultural experiences in your trip planning, Bali Indah is quite different from the animal and boating attractions at the Dolina Charlotty.

Seals and a themed boat trip

The seal sanctuary is home to five male Baltic grey seals (Halichoerus grypus). They are housed in three pools, with a combined surface area of 1,500 square metres and a total volume of just under three million litres. The surface area and water volume refer to all three pools together; the number of animals and pool details may change. Wodne Zoo Safari offers a different kind of experience: the boat trip passes themed islands representing Africa, South America and Australia, and ends at an island inhabited by lemurs. This combines animal watching with a boat trip featuring themed stops.

Kayaks, pedal boats and a playground

Kayaks and pedal boats are available at the Dolina Charlotty from May to the end of September. Kayak tours are also offered there. The seasonal availability of kayaks and pedal boats is a useful detail for planning; the tours are a separate kayak activity. There is also a large playground on the zoo grounds where children can play. If you are travelling with children, you can include the playground as a separate activity. The attractions thus vary in theme and activity: local history, culture, wildlife or time on the water.
