When planning a stay in Zduny, you can choose from several clearly distinct themes: the Baroque parish church, a museum in a historic burgher house, a gallery with a private collection, cultural events and a green hiking trail to Krotoszyn. This mix of themes encompasses church and town hall architecture, as well as collections and event venues. The 12.2-kilometre route is also a specific hiking destination. You can consider whether architectural history, exhibitions, ceramics, concerts or outdoor activity should be the focus of your stay.

Church and Town Hall: Two Architectural Highlights

The parish church of St John the Baptist was built in the Baroque style between 1719 and 1733. These dates provide a specific time frame if you would like to compare the church with other historic buildings. The town hall stands out for its arcade, which runs along the entire length of the façade and is supported by five columns. An arcade is a series of arches resting on supports; at this town hall, the defining features are its full-length span and five supporting columns. Zdunowski Ośrodek Kultury, a café and a bank are also located in Zduny Town Hall.

Museum and Gallery

The Izba Muzealna of Zdunowski Ośrodek Kultury has been housed since 1985 in a former burgher house dating from the transition between the 17th and 18th centuries. Its collections are displayed in three exhibition rooms. The building therefore dates from an earlier period than the museum itself. The Zdunowskiego Kafla Gallery offers a different point of reference in time: it opened in March 2025 and displays a private collection belonging to Jarosław Ciąder. The museum’s three exhibition rooms and the gallery’s private collection offer different points of interest for visitors interested in collections and how they are presented.

Concerts, Exhibitions and Ceramics

Chamber, choral and opera concerts are held inside the former evangelical church. Historical and special-occasion exhibitions are also held there. Music events and exhibitions are thus two distinct uses of this former church building. Ceramics classes take place on Tuesdays in the historic section of Stara Kaflarnia, in a mixed-age group. If you are interested in the classes, check the current arrangements with the venue in advance.

Hiking Trail and Outdoor Swimming Pool

The green hiking trail from Zduny to Krotoszyn is 12.2 km long. It runs from Zduny railway station to the town hall, then via Borownica, the earthwork rampart of the Greater Poland Insurgents and Krotoszyn Municipal Forest, ending at the Regional Museum and railway station in Krotoszyn. Its length and stops give you specific points of reference when considering the hike as part of your stay.

The outdoor swimming pool in Zduny has two pools: one measures 50 × 20 m, the other 22 × 20 m. Both are 20 m wide, so they differ mainly in length. The swimming pool complex also includes a beach volleyball court and a new playground. Access and facilities may vary by season, so check the current conditions before your visit.
