For a stay in Drawsko, specific cycling and hiking routes sit alongside themes of engineering and architecture. The routes differ in length, course and designated uses, so you can plan your outings according to route type and interests. The waterworks complex and a restored palace add cultural and historical highlights to the active pursuits. When planning, you can first decide whether cycling distances, a circular hiking route or the history of the buildings should take priority.

Cycling Routes by Length and Course

The red “Po obu stronach Noteci” cycling route passes through Drawsko and covers 57 km. At 9 km, the black cycling route is considerably shorter. It passes through Drawsko (Abisynia), via the Kaczeniec Forest District to Borzysko Młyn. The two routes therefore differ both in length and in the sections mentioned.

Two cycling loops start and end in Drawsko. The 24 km loop passes through Pęckowo, Marylin and Piłka; the 34 km loop passes through Chełst, Kamiennik, Kwiejce, Piłka and Pęckowo. Both go through Piłka and Pęckowo. The shorter route also includes Marylin, while the longer one goes through Chełst, Kamiennik and Kwiejce. This makes it possible to distinguish between the loops not only by distance but also by their described courses.

For a direct comparison of lengths, the black cycling route is 9 km, the hiking loop 14 km, the cycling loops 24 and 34 km, and the red cycling route 57 km. You can rank the listed routes by distance without treating their different types as equivalent: alongside the cycling routes, there is a separate hiking loop, and two of the cycling routes are described as loops that start and end in Drawsko.

Hiking and Other Activities

The 14 km hiking route starts at the “Yndzel” landing stage in Drawsko and returns there. Along the way, it follows the former “Rajczywiec” educational nature trail, passes through the landscape of the Noteć Valley and reaches a group of veteran oaks. Its start and return points are therefore the same; the route can be considered a loop with several named landscape and nature-related stops.

The “Trójwieś” route connects Drawsko, Drawski Młyn and Pęckowo and is suitable for pedestrians, cyclists and Nordic walkers. Unlike the 14 km loop, this route explicitly lists several types of use. You can therefore compare the two routes on different grounds: for the hiking route, the focus is on its length, starting point and course; for “Trójwieś,” on the places it connects and the activities it accommodates.

Water Engineering and Historic Architecture

The Drawsko waterworks complex was built in 1898. It comprises a single-chamber lock and a chamber-type fish pass. The Drawsko lock is an important feature of the cultural landscape of the Noteć Valley. This site thus brings together engineering features and landscape significance. The statement about the cultural landscape refers to the lock; the waterworks complex also includes the chamber-type fish pass.

The restored palace in Drawsko stands in a manor park dating from the first half of the 18th century. This date applies to the park; the palace itself is described as restored. The waterworks complex, meanwhile, dates from 1898. These different dates help you distinguish the history of the buildings and the park without attributing the park’s date to the palace.
