Misano Adriatico: Beach, Trails and History
Accommodation in Misano Adriatico
Misano Adriatico offers beach activities, a seafront promenade for evening walks, trails towards the hills, and cultural and motorsports attractions. When planning your trip, you can first decide whether you want to focus mainly on time by the sea, outdoor activities, or history and motorsports.
Beach, promenade and Portoverde
At the beach, you can play beach tennis and beach volleyball or go swimming. The seafront promenade runs along the beach and invites you to take evening walks. This gives you a choice of different activities: active time at the beach and a walk later in the day.
Portoverde is a completely car-free village in Mediterranean style. White houses with blue windows define its appearance; there are also places for aperitifs, restaurants by the Darsena, shops and equipped beaches. Individual businesses and offerings may change.
Trails between the river and the hills
The EcoVia del Conca starts in Portoverde by the sea and follows the River Conca towards the hills. The EcoVia delle Colline offers a different landscape, with fields and vineyards along the route, as well as views of the sea. These two routes offer different highlights: the river and hills on the one hand, and agricultural landscapes and sea views on the other.
The Oasi del Conca forms a green corridor leading from Misano towards the hills of the inland area. Its paved paths are used by mountain bikers and by families with children on foot; trail conditions may change seasonally. The Parco Mare-Nord lies along the EcoVia del Mare and is ideal for shady breaks and picnics under pine trees. The park therefore offers a different focus from the trails leading through the countryside towards the inland area.
Culture and local history
The Pieve dei SS Biagio ed Erasmo was built in 997 at a place then called “Monte della Pieve”, now known as Misano Monte. You can also explore local history through MISANODAMARE: this tourist route runs along the seafront promenade from Piazzale Roma to the Portoverde marina and is divided into eight stops. Check the signs on site, as they may change.
The MISANODAMARE app presents the maritime traditions of Misano Adriatico and lets you explore the municipality’s historical and ecological heritage. The route and the app offer different ways to explore: the route divides the seafront walk into stops, while the app focuses on maritime traditions and the municipality’s heritage. Digital features may change; check the latest information before using the app.
Local festivals also offer an insight into the area’s event traditions. In 2025, the Festa della Segavecchia reached its 37th edition in Misano Adriatico. The traditional celebration included two days of a funfair, exhibitions, markets, performances and street food. In 2026, the Misano Piano Festival reached its 34th edition. The Festa dell’Agina is a traditional local celebration. The 2026 programme for the Palio del Capitano di Castello planned to transform Piazza della Repubblica into a medieval village for an evening; it also listed falconry, historical games, flag throwers, drummers, armed participants and dancers, among other activities. If events are important to your trip, check the specific dates and programmes for your travel period.
Motorsports and Pony Experience
The motorsports venues differ in their history and layout. Arena 58 is a dirt track less than 100 metres from the sea. It was initially used as a speedway track and later as a flat-track venue. The Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” was established in 1972 and has hosted major two- and four-wheel events for many years.
Another experience is the Pony Experience: children can observe free-roaming horses up close, interact with them and enjoy a short pony ride. Dates and booking conditions may change; check the latest information before making plans.
