Casteldelci offers a range of ways to enjoy a trip: nature and leisure activities are at the heart of the Eco Park, while Ponte Vecchio, the historic town center and the bell tower showcase the area’s history and architecture. When looking for a hotel in Casteldelci, you can first consider whether nature and activities or historic buildings will be the focus of your trip. The destinations below differ in theme and in what you can see or do there.

Waterfalls and activities at the Eco Park

From the Eco Park, you can reach the Casteldelci waterfalls via a short walking trail. The Eco Park also offers leisure, play and sports activities, as well as mountain tourism opportunities in a natural setting; visitors can also rent e-bikes there. These offer different points of reference for planning your trip: the trail leads to a specific destination, while the other details describe a broader range of activities in the park.

Landscape and trails

The valley by the waterfalls features riverside woodland with willows and poplars, as well as nearby springs of sulfurous water. These features complement each other without being alike: the willows and poplars characterize the riverside woodland, while the springs are another distinctive feature of the valley.

Casteldelci offers trails and mule tracks through an unspoiled Apennine landscape, which can be explored on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike. Unlike the short route to the waterfalls, these trails put the mode of travel in the foreground. When planning your trip, you can therefore distinguish between a specific destination and choosing a route based on your preferred activity.

Ponte Vecchio and historic buildings

Ponte Vecchio stands at the beginning of the road that climbs to Casteldelci’s main settlement. For centuries, it marked the main access route from the valley. The bridge crosses the Senatello River and blends into the surrounding riverside landscape and the sandstone outcrops typical of the area. Its historic role and landscape setting offer two distinct reasons to take notice of it: as the former access route to the main settlement and as part of the riverside landscape.

The historic town center offers a different architectural highlight: Casteldelci is a stone village with old portals. The bell tower also offers a glimpse into a different period. It dates from 1100, when it served a defensive purpose, and later became the bell tower of the nearby Church of San Martino. While Ponte Vecchio recalls the former route into the settlement from the valley, the bell tower shows a change of function—from defense to religious use.

A dining option in the park

The Eco Park kiosk serves freshly prepared stuffed piadine, platters of local cured meats and cheeses, as well as vegetarian options. This means the park’s visitor offerings also include a specific food selection. The selection may change; if it matters for your plans, check the current menu before your visit.
