Accommodation in Dautphetal
Dautphetal is located in the Hessian Hinterland of the Marburg-Biedenkopf district, in the heart of the Lahn-Dill-Bergland Nature Park and on the River Dautphe, a tributary of the Lahn. Topographically, the area belongs to the foothills of the low mountain range. Deep valleys with small streams, wide meadows and fields, unspoilt forests and relatively high mountain peaks shape the landscape of the municipality.

Places to visit by the water and local culture
Two destinations by the water have different features. Lautzebachweiher, which locals in Dautphetal also call Paddelteich, is in the forest between Dautphe and Silberg and is a place to visit at any time of year. At the Lahn weir in Wolfgruben, you can picnic, skim stones and relax by the water. The pond is characterised by its forest setting and year-round appeal, while the activities mentioned are the focus at the weir.
The mini-museum in the Dautphe bakehouse displays a furnished, lower-middle-class three-room apartment that illustrates life around 1900. It thus focuses on a specific type of home and its historical context. If you are planning a visit, check the current visiting arrangements beforehand.
