Seinsheim offers two distinct highlights to consider when planning your trip: views over vineyards and trails through the countryside, as well as the history of the Gaden Church Fortress and the Church of St. Peter and Paul. If you are looking for a hotel in Seinsheim, these local attractions can help you decide what you would like to focus on during your stay.

Views, Lake and Vineyards

The Seinsheim panoramic viewpoint is located above the Seinsheim vineyards on the Hohenbühl, near the Weinparadiesscheune. The viewpoint offers panoramic views. Seinsheim Lake is on the edge of town in the direction of the Weinparadiesscheune.

The scenic lake lies between Seinsheim and the vineyards of the Seinsheimer Hohenbühl vineyard site. There is a playground and a meadow by the lake. There are also playgrounds in all districts of the Seinsheim market municipality. If a playground is important to your plans, check for current information before your visit. The Seinsheim Tree Horoscope Trail runs along the scenic lake. Swimming is not permitted in Seinsheim Scenic Lake; please observe the local notices when you arrive.

Trails and Specific Route Details

The Weinparadies Trail is 19 kilometers long and runs from Nenzenheim at Tannenberg, past the Seinsheim panoramic viewpoint, to Weigenheim. The route extends beyond Seinsheim and connects several named places. If you would like to combine your trip with a longer route, this trail description offers a different point of reference from a short detour to a single landscape feature.

A 300-meter detour from the Wein mit Weitblick circular trail leads to the Old Quarry. There you will find impressive sandstone walls. The two figures describe different things: 19 kilometers is the length of the Weinparadies Trail, while 300 meters is the length of the detour from the circular trail to the quarry.

There is a barbecue area by the shelter at Bergbrünnlein. If you would like to include it in your plans, check current information about its use, as the availability of facilities can change.

Gaden Church Fortress and Church History

The almost completely preserved Gaden Church Fortress in Seinsheim comprises 17 Gaden houses with cellars dating from the 15th century. The Gaden houses have existed since that century and were part of the former fortified church complex. The site thus offers insight both into its long history and its former role as part of a fortification.

The Church of St. Peter and Paul was built between 1810 and 1814 and is the fourth church on this site. Its construction therefore took place considerably later than the origins of the Gaden houses. The church and the older Gaden Church Fortress offer two distinct historical points of interest in the town.

The rooms of the Seinsheim church Gaden complex are used for festivals, exhibitions, concerts and cabaret. Events may vary. A guided tour in Seinsheim includes the church, the Gaden Church Fortress and the cellars; visitors can also see the cellars and Gaden houses as part of a tour. Please confirm specific arrangements in advance with your guide or the local tourist information office.
