Mainstockheim brings together the plain along the Main and the vineyards of the “Mainstockheimer Hofstück” wine-growing area, as well as a local history reflected in several historic buildings. If you are looking for a hotel in Mainstockheim, these themes can help you plan your stay around the landscape, trails, or architectural history. Cycling and circular trails add practical options for planning your days.

Landscape and trails

Mainstockheim’s landscape includes the plain along the Main and the vineyards of the “Mainstockheimer Hofstück” wine-growing area. The Main Cycle Route runs through the village and its surrounding district along the river. Two designated circular hiking trails also pass through Mainstockheim and its vineyards; guided tours are available on request. This lets you distinguish between a riverside route and circular trails through the vineyards when planning your trip: the cycle route follows the Main, while the circular trails are designated hiking options.

The Chris-Tina ferry connects Mainstockheim and Albertshofen. Check current operating times before travelling, as details may change. Mainstockheim is located directly on the Nuremberg–Frankfurt railway line. For specific train connections, please check the current timetable.

Local history and buildings

The first historical record of Mainstockheim’s Protestant St. James Church dates to May 22, 1451. A small Bible garden has stood within its surrounding wall since spring 2013.

The former synagogue was built in 1836 in the Neoclassical style for the Jewish community. Today, the building serves as a Catholic place of worship. If necessary, check its current use before visiting.

The former Ebrach monastery courtyard was built between 1621 and 1623 in an ornate Renaissance style. The garden of Ebrach Court was laid out on several levels between 1727 and 1734 and covers more than 4,600 square metres. Ebrach Court is now used as a retirement residence. Another architectural detail is the old bell turret atop a residential building on Gumbertusgasse, where it has been preserved.

Guided tours and wine

Guided tours are available on request; Laura Voit, a former wine princess, leads group tours in Mainstockheim by prior arrangement. After a tour of the wine-growing village of Mainstockheim, wines from the Mainstockheimer HofstĂĽck can be sampled at a local winery by arrangement. In autumn, hosts in Mainstockheim invite visitors to cosy Bremser evenings. For specific dates, it is best to ask local wineries.
