Oberreichenbach: Hiking, Cycling and Cross-Country Ski Trails

In Oberreichenbach, you can plan outings based on activity, starting point and duration. Several circular hiking trails take about two and a half hours; on one route, a shortcut reduces the walking time by approximately one hour. There is also a cycling loop of about 20.5 kilometres, another cycling route in the direction of Altburg, and Sonnenloipen cross-country ski trails, which are groomed when there is enough snow. The approximate walking time is two and a half hours. A spring is located at Föhrbrunnen in the Oberreichenbach Forest, and a hut there invites you to linger. Another loop, also taking about two and a half hours, starts at Oberreichenbach Town Hall. It leads via Felsenmeer, Oberkollbach, Unterkollbach, Igelsloch and other stops before returning to Oberreichenbach. A shortcut is available for a shorter walk, reducing the duration by about one hour. This loop differs from the route starting at the sports ground because it begins at the town hall and offers the option of shortening the time required.

A circular hiking trail also starts at the Bechergass car park and leads via Heselwasenhütte, Becherberg, Katzensteigle, Brandmiss and Naislach before returning to the car park. This loop is also listed as taking about two and a half hours. The sequence of named stops offers another way to choose a hike based on its specific route.

In addition, a hiking trail marked by the Black Forest Association runs through a Black Forest valley between Oberreichenbach and Hirsau. Cycling and Seasonal Cross-Country Ski Trails

The cycling loop, about 20.5 kilometres long, starts either at the car park by the church or at Oberreichenbach Town Hall. It leads via Altburg, Würzbacher Kreuz, Würzbach, Sauerbrunnen and Schmieh, and past the Habichtsfang wetland, before returning to Oberreichenbach. The distance and the many named stops help you plan the tour; Oberreichenbach is listed as the destination.

Another cycling route starts at the Oberreichenbach sports ground. It leads via Eselsträßle and Kohlhütte, past the Habichtsfang biotope, and via Würzbacher Kreuz in the direction of Altburg. Unlike the cycling loop, this route is described as heading towards Altburg; no distance is given. The two cycling routes can therefore be distinguished mainly by their described paths.

In winter, the Oberreichenbach Sonnenloipen are groomed when there is enough snow. There are loops in all four districts. This means the cross-country ski trail offering is subject to a specific condition: the trails are groomed only when there is sufficient snow. When planning, you can take this seasonal difference into account in comparison with the hiking and cycling routes described above.
