Schömberg – Views, Trails and Experiences
Accommodation in Schömberg
Schömberg offers several different reasons to visit: views from the observation tower, accessible trails, a route across a range of materials and activities in the spa park. If you are planning a stay, these attractions can help you narrow down your interests for your time here.
Views and Trails in Schömberg
The highest platform of the Himmelsglück observation tower is 50 metres high. From there, views stretch across the Northern Black Forest and far beyond. The accessible AugenBlick Schömberg circuit is 2.1 kilometres long and leads to the tower. It starts at the P1/P2 car parks on Schwarzwaldstraße, opposite the Kurhaus. Before setting out, check whether there have been any local changes to the route.
Twelve hiking routes are available in and around Schömberg. The selection may be updated, so check the current list before making specific plans. “Schömberg with All the Senses” is also an accessible experience trail. If accessibility is a priority when choosing a trail, this is another named option alongside the AugenBlick circuit.
The Schömberg barefoot trail follows an approximately 800-metre-long route across more than 20 different materials and takes just under half an hour. The season runs from May to October. The trails offer different experiences: the AugenBlick circuit leads to the observation tower, while the barefoot trail is defined by the sequence of materials along the route.
Activities and Experiences
The Blackforest Flyline, which is over 500 metres long, and the Blackforest Flying Fox, which is over 600 metres long, descend from the Himmelsglück observation tower to the spa park. The two attractions therefore differ in their stated lengths. If you plan to try either activity, check the latest operating information before your visit.
At Anni’s Black Forest Mystery in Schömberg, visitors solve riddles and complete tasks to help bring the community of Glück back its lost happiness. The Generations Activity Park has more than 20 pieces of play equipment: they require dexterity and strength, promote balance or are for play. There is also a mini-golf course in the spa park. This means there is a choice of different leisure activities, including a mystery, various pieces of exercise equipment and mini-golf.
The spa and healing forest is open to tourists, local residents, clinic patients and other user groups.
Winter and Cycling
The Eulenloch near Schömberg is home to the lowest-altitude drag lift in the Northern Black Forest. Before visiting, check its current operating status as a winter facility.
