Evenos Between Panoramic Views and Vineyards

If you’re looking for a hotel for a stay in Evenos, you can start by choosing what matters most to you: sweeping views, rock formations, historic village scenery, wine and local produce each offer a different appeal.

Views and Rock Formations

From Nèbre, enjoy a 180-degree panoramic view stretching from the Rade de Toulon to La Ciotat and the Gorges d’Ollioules. The hiking route over the Croupatier heights offers a different perspective: from there, the view extends over the Rade de Toulon to the medieval village of Évenos, perched on a rocky outcrop. The two views are therefore distinct: Nèbre takes in La Ciotat and the Gorges, while the village at altitude is part of the panorama from Croupatier.

The rock formations also offer contrasting impressions. The rocky outcrop at Nèbre is made of basalt and formed by an ancient volcano. The Grès de Sainte-Anne, by contrast, consist of limestone hills and caves shaped over time.

Historic Village Scenery

Medieval Nèbre, with its stately château and original village, was built at an altitude of 362 metres. Its elevation and medieval character give the village its distinctive feel.

The Château d’Evenos is a historic site on a volcanic summit. It was built on a long platform protected by fortification walls, which alternate between limestone and basalt. The château is privately owned and cannot be visited. Check its visitor status before your trip if you’re planning to include it in your itinerary.

Hamlets, Routes and a Regional Nature Park

The hamlet of Broussan is considered an authentic village and is overlooked by Mont Caume. From there, you can reach the course of the Destel. Another route crosses the Barres des Aiguilles and continues to the Grottes de la Foux.

Évenos lies at the gateway to the Parc naturel régional de la Sainte-Baume. This shared area includes deep forests, striking cliffs and remarkable biodiversity, as well as hiking trails and themed routes. This description refers to the area as a whole.

Wine and Local Produce

Évenos is surrounded by vineyards belonging to the Bandol appellation and is home to several winegrowers who are also owners. Visitors can discover Domaine Imbert wine in the wine cellar or at other locations. Check current visitor arrangements in advance.

The weekly market offers a wide selection of food and other products. The aim is to offer as much locally produced goods as possible; the specific range of stalls may vary.

The FĂŞte de la Pivoine is celebrated each year by local producers. Offerings include peonies as cut flowers and plants, as well as in the form of perfumes and soaps. The specific offerings may vary from one edition to the next.

Getting There via the DN8

Évenos can be reached via the DN8 from Le Beausset on the Aubagne side and from Ollioules on the Toulon side. The road passes through the Gorges d’Ollioules. As traffic conditions can vary, it’s a good idea to check the latest situation before setting off.
