Kumbor: Coast, Marina and History
Accommodation in Kumbor
Kumbor combines a marina and Portonovi’s coastal features with historical connections.
Marina and Coast
The Portonovi Marina in Kumbor has 238 berths and can accommodate yachts and superyachts up to 140 metres long. If you are planning a trip with your own boat, these figures provide concrete points of reference. As capacity information can change, check the marina’s current details before making plans.
The Kumbor-Portonovi Marina includes a border crossing that operates around the clock. The border control involves the police, customs and the harbourmaster’s office. Service information can also change; check the latest details before making specific travel plans.
Portonovi is located on the site of a former military base in Kumbor. The complex has 1.8 kilometres of coastline and a sandy beach. This coastline measurement refers to Portonovi, not to the entire coast of Kumbor.
Resort, Treatments and Cuisine
Portonovi is home to Europe’s first One&Only resort. It includes Chenot Espace, which offers medical treatments. If a particular treatment is important to your trip, confirm its current availability in advance; individual treatments and their availability may change.
The restaurants and bars in Portonovi serve Mediterranean and Asian-inspired fusion cuisine, as well as modernised Eastern cuisine, including fish and meat specialities. The selection may change. If you want to plan your meals around a particular cuisine, check the current selection.
Historical Points of Reference in Kumbor
In Venetian documents from 1758, Kumbor appears under the historical name “Combur”. Another point of reference is the Kumbor seaplane base, established by the Austro-Hungarian Navy in 1914.
Hillside Park is home to the monument to the pilots of the 3rd Seaplane Command. It is dedicated to 28 pilots, observers and mechanics who died in the service of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. The park also retains the layout of its historic garden paths and incorporates existing trees into the grounds. The monument, paths and trees thus stand alongside Portonovi’s maritime themes as distinct historical and landscape features of the place.
Trails and Views
A route described for Portonovi Summer Rise 2026 follows coastal paths, passes through woodland and crosses hilly terrain to the “1. maj” viewpoint. From there, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Boka Bay. The route description relates to Summer Rise 2026; if the event is part of your plans, check the latest dates and participation information.
