Baošići lies on the southeastern shore of the Bay of Kotor, between Đenovići and Bijela. The settlement stretches for about two kilometres. Coastal stays and maritime history shape the experience here, alongside a museum, an older religious building and a festival finale.

Beaches on the Bay

There are dozens of natural pebble beaches along the coast. Access to all beaches is unrestricted; if shoreline management changes, check the local access rules. Under normal sea conditions, the calm, shallow water at the beaches is especially suitable for children. Baošići is also one of the destinations on the Herceg Novi Riviera.

The Dom starog kapetana Museum

The public museum institution of Herceg Novi manages the Dom starog kapetana Museum in Baošići. Štumberger opened the house to visitors in 1955. Its collection includes ethnological objects, old weapons, books, model sailing ships, amphorae, icons, paintings and old coins. The property also includes a park and a small vineyard.

Church and Maritime History

The Church of St. Nicholas was built more than 400 years ago and restored in 1802. The 2023 municipal cultural heritage register lists it as an immovable cultural asset of local significance. Another historical connection is the French writer Pierre Loti, who came ashore in Baošići in 1880. Accounts of the heyday of seafaring in the Bay of Kotor report that Baošići had more than 30 long-distance ships and over 50 sea captains. The monument in Dubci commemorates six fighters in the National Liberation War.

The Mimosa Festival

The Mimosa Festival finale is held on the shore in Baošići, a tradition that has lasted for more than 40 years. The Mimosa Festival was founded in 1969 in the wider destination of Herceg Novi. In February and March, it features masked balls, carnival events, concerts and numerous children's, arts and sports programmes. Programme details may vary from one edition to another.

Hiking in the Herceg Novi destination

In the wider destination of Herceg Novi, Orjen Nature Park is a distinct highlight for hiking enthusiasts. It lies in the hinterland of Herceg Novi, on Mount Orjen. Its dense network of marked trails ranges from easy walking paths to routes for experienced mountaineers. The Tatar bašta–Sušćepan–Ratiševina–Mokrine trail connects villages in the hinterland and churches with viewpoints, and is suitable for walking and easy mountain hiking. Another regional trail, Herceg Novi–Kameno–Borići–“Za Vratlom” mountain lodge, connects Herceg Novi with Orjen and serves as an approach route to the Orjen–Lovćen–Rumija national long-distance trail. Baošići’s beaches and the hiking trails of the wider destination therefore appeal to different travel interests.
