Discover Tečovice
Accommodation in Tečovice
Tečovice offers several reasons to visit: a network of trails for outdoor activities, historic churches and local festivals. You can plan your stay according to whether you mainly want to hike or mountain bike, are interested in architectural history, or are visiting for an event.
Hiking, running and mountain biking
The Stezky mezi kopci trail network is suitable for hiking, Nordic walking, running and mountain biking. Most trails are accessible to mountain bikes. When planning your route, take its length and course into account.
One named route is the red-marked Tečovické stráně trail. It is 9 km long and runs mostly through the area around Tečovice. In the village, it passes the Kostel sv. Jakuba Staršího church. There are viewpoints and community-built polders along the trail. Both the route and the landscape are among the defining features of this trail.
The trail network includes information boards with route maps and tourist signposts. Benches and panorama boards at viewpoints round out the visitor facilities described. When planning your time outdoors, you can find information about possible activities as well as practical orientation aids along the trail network.
Kostel sv. Jakuba Staršího church and chapel
The Kostel sv. Jakuba Staršího church dates back to a Romanesque building from the late 13th century and was later remodeled in the Gothic and Baroque styles. Its history therefore reflects several building phases: the Romanesque origins were followed by changes in two further periods. The nave and chancel are decorated with 14th-century frescoes. The furnishings include a valuable pulpit and a baptismal font dating from the 13th century.
Another historic sight is the Kaplička sv. Rodiny chapel. The chapel dates from around 1800 and stands beside a road north of Tečovice. Its interior walls are covered with paintings by Josef Mikeš. While the church brings together several art-historical periods through its architectural history and frescoes, the chapel is distinguished by the combination of its approximate date of origin, location and wall paintings.
Local festivals and their dates
Tečovské hody is a revived local tradition. On October 18, 2025, a festival procession took place, during which a ram was led. Tečovská pouť is a traditional local festival. Its dates vary from year to year.
If you want to plan your trip around a festival, check the date for the relevant year. This is particularly relevant for Tečovská pouť, whose date changes.
