Pozlovice lies on the southern edge of the Vizovice Highlands and on the border of the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. Water, outdoor activities and cultural history give a stay here different focuses. The Luhačovice Reservoir was built on the Šťávnice River in Pozlovice at the beginning of the 20th century. It is used for sports, recreation and fishing; an educational trail by the reservoir connects the landscape with its history.

Landscape and Reservoir

The educational trail by the reservoir covers the history of the original Šťavnice Valley, mills that have since disappeared, and floods in Luhačovice. The construction and present-day role of the reservoir are also among its topics. Thus, alongside the water itself, the changing landscape takes centre stage. Those interested in the surroundings can explore them through natural and local history, while sports, recreation and fishing are among the reservoir’s stated uses.

Swimming and Outdoor Activities

The Duha outdoor swimming pool offers an opportunity to swim and relax during the summer months. Facilities include a pool with water attractions; the swimming pool also has a children’s playground and food services. The season is important when planning a visit: swimming is a summer activity, while the reservoir can also be enjoyed for its other stated uses.

The Stezka zdraví (Health Trail) runs around the reservoir and features ten outdoor exercise stations. The route also includes a play feature for children aged three to twelve. There is a multi-purpose sports court by the school in Pozlovice, intended for tennis, small-sided football, basketball, volleyball, nohejbal and other physical activities. Availability and booking conditions may change; check them before making specific plans.

A tourist tram also runs seasonally on the Luhačovice–Pozlovice route. On its return journey, it passes through Pozlovice by the Church of St Martin. If you plan to use this connection, check the timetable and operating dates in advance.

Educational Trails and Hiking Routes

The Antonín Václavík Educational Trail begins in the centre of Pozlovice, next to the music pavilion. It passes the Church of St Martin and the registered cultural monument Niva, then continues to Luhačovice. The route links a starting point in the town centre with named landmarks and a continuation to the neighbouring town.

In the Větrník landscape, the Skřítek Větrník Educational Trail focuses on wind, wind energy and the concept of a climate spa. Its six stops are complemented by wooden play features, wooden benches and a picnic set. Another hiking option is the blue-marked trail from Starý Světlov Castle to Luhačovice, which passes through Pozlovice. Check trail conditions locally before planning your route.

The ruins of Starý Světlov Castle retain clearly visible stone walls. Restoration and conservation work helps stabilise the masonry and protect the cultural monument; such work may change over time.

Church and Historic Buildings

The Church of St Martin was rebuilt in stone in 1642 and enlarged in 1672 with an extension and side chapels. The complex is protected as a cultural monument. It includes four stone tombstones and a stone crucifix. The historic organs were acquired between 1790 and 1798 and have since been restored. The building’s history can be seen in several parts of the complex: in the church’s construction phases as well as in the tombstones, crucifix and organs.

The Pozlovice rectory was built in 1757 in the Baroque style and bears the coat of arms of the Counts of Serenyi. The protected rectory complex includes the rectory, outbuildings with stables and a barn, an enclosing wall, and a statue of St John of Nepomuk. Wayside shrines also add historic accents: one on the field path to Horní Lhota dates from the early 18th century, and another at the crossroads in Řetechov dates from 1719. Both are registered as cultural monuments.
