During a stay in Komárov, marked trails, religious and local commemorative sites, and landscape destinations can offer different focal points. When looking for a hotel, consider whether you would like to spend most of your time hiking and mountain biking, exploring the local religious life, or visiting individual landscape features and viewpoints. The places of interest range from the regional trail network to a protected tree, ponds in the valley of the Burava stream, and a viewpoint above Komárov. This can help you choose based on the interests that matter most for your stay.

Trails for hiking and mountain biking

The Stezky napajedelských emirátů trail network comprises around 70 kilometres of marked routes. It connects Napajedla with surrounding municipalities, including Komárov. The routes are intended for hikers and mountain bikers; information boards point out places of interest along the way. This means that both travelling along marked routes and exploring the sights are possible focal points.

A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Napajedla to Malenovice through the northern tip of Komárov’s cadastral area. This trail and the network address different planning questions: the network comprises around 70 kilometres of marked routes and identifies hikers and mountain bikers as its users. The yellow hiking trail runs between Napajedla and Malenovice, passing through the northern part of the cadastral area. If you are planning a specific hike, it is a good idea to check current trail conditions.

Chapel and local remembrance

The Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua in Komárov belongs to the Pohořelice parish. Services are still held in the chapel. It is therefore a religious point of reference for a stay if you are interested in community life and local religious buildings.

Another local point of interest is the school building: it was built in 1886–1887 and now serves as a kindergarten. A memorial plaque in the building bears the names of two resistance fighters who were shot at Kalvárie in Napajedla on 27 April 1945. It is important to distinguish between the memorial site and the historical event site: the plaque is in Komárov, while the events took place in Napajedla. The chapel’s continued religious use and a specific commemoration of people and events thus offer two different ways to explore local history.

Memorial tree, ponds and viewpoint

Dub u Komárova is a protected English oak and a memorial tree. It is about 24 metres tall; tree measurements may change slightly over time. If you plan to visit the tree specifically, check local visiting conditions beforehand.

Two fishponds lie in the valley of the Burava stream, about 700 metres northwest of Komárov. Rybník Žlébek is one of the two ponds and the larger of the pair. It has a small island and measures about 110 × 60 metres. Dense willow and alder vegetation lines the ponds. This distinguishes the entire group of ponds in the valley from Žlébek, the individually named pond with an island and stated dimensions.

A viewpoint above Komárov offers views of the Chřiby hills. Visibility depends on the weather. When conditions are suitable, the distant views add a different perspective to the landscape around the tree and in the Burava valley. The tree, ponds and viewpoint therefore appeal to different interests: a protected individual tree, waters with vegetation along their banks, and views of a named landscape.
