Nezdenice lies east of Uherský Brod and stretches along both banks of the Olšava. Its outdoor pool and mineral spring, hiking traditions and historic religious buildings offer a variety of reasons to stay. Depending on when you visit, you can focus on summer recreation, nature, outdoor activities or architectural history.

Spring and Natural Area

Nezdenická kyselka is one of Nezdenice’s notable natural attractions. It is located near the local outdoor pool and emerges near Nezdenská skala. Nezdenská skala is a natural area centered on a partially flooded andesite quarry. A description of the spring mentions not only mineral water but also a clearly perceptible amount of hydrogen sulfide, which gives the water its distinctive taste and smell. The associated analysis data date from 2004.

The two natural attractions offer different points of interest: the spring is notable for the characteristics of its water, while the natural area centers on the landscape around the partially flooded andesite quarry. In Nezdenice, you can therefore visit both a named natural area and a spring with a distinctive description of its taste and smell.

Outdoor Pool and Walks

The outdoor pool in Nezdenice is a place for leisure and relaxation during the summer months. It has a 33-meter swimming pool with a slide and diving board, as well as a small, round children’s pool. The facilities may change during renovations, so check the latest information about the pool before your visit.

The pool’s location makes it a convenient starting point for trips and walks in the surrounding area. This provides a point of reference for exploring nearby attractions in addition to swimming. These walks are distinct from the town’s recurring hiking traditions: one involves trips near the outdoor pool, while the others are an autumn hike and a traditional New Year’s Eve march.

Church and Chapel

The Church of St. Peter and Paul is a cultural monument in Nezdenice. Its core dates from the late 14th century, while the presbytery, or choir area, dates from the 17th century. The church was remodeled further at a later date. Its architectural history thus spans from the late Middle Ages to later alterations.

A chapel dating from the first half of the 19th century stands behind the cemetery on Brodská Street. It is set on sloping ground and can be reached via a concrete access ramp. The chapel offers a fairly wide view that extends in almost every direction. In terms of age, it is considerably later than the core of the Church of St. Peter and Paul; at the same time, its views of the surrounding area add a landscape perspective to the architectural history.

Hiking and Cycling

The Nezdenský Tourists organize an autumn hike every year. A march from Luhačovice to Nezdenice traditionally takes place on New Year’s Eve. For cycling, the 11-kilometer Bojkovská magistrála passes through Nezdenice. These activities differ in timing and format: an annual autumn hike, a traditional New Year’s Eve march and a cycling route through the town.

If you are planning your trip around one of the events, check the current date in advance. Their different timings may help with planning: the outdoor pool is used for recreation during the summer months, while the two hiking traditions take place in autumn and on New Year’s Eve. The cycling route is another specific point of interest for a stay in Nezdenice.
