Radčice can be explored from a variety of perspectives. The protected village centre and its historic buildings invite you to learn about the history of its architecture, while the Cesta kamene at Zámeček Radčice focuses on rocks and their uses. A green-marked walking trail leads to Radčice and is associated with the Viktorka Spring and the Kozí pec rock formation. You can choose what to explore based on the village’s character, cultural history or geological themes.

Rocks and their uses

Zámeček Radčice is home to the Cesta kamene, an outdoor geological exhibition about rocks. Through stone objects, it explores the connection between human history and the use of mineral resources, particularly in art, crafts and construction. Its focus therefore goes beyond describing individual rocks: the exhibition also considers the role of mineral resources in human work and creativity. The educational area includes benches, an information board and a signpost. When planning your visit, please note that local access arrangements may change, and check the conditions in advance.

Walking trail, spring and rock formation

The picturesque Viktorka Spring adds to the green-marked walking trail to Radčice; Kozí pec is also associated with this trail. The rock formation is a small rocky pyramid in a Carboniferous rock formation. The Viktorka Spring was restored in 2013 at the site of the original spring. The two features offer different points of interest: at Kozí pec, the focus is on the geological formation, while at the spring, its restoration at the original site is also part of its history. By comparison, the Cesta kamene focuses on how people use mineral resources.

Village centre and architectural history

The centre of Radčice’s protected zone is a small, triangular village green. It is enclosed mainly by large farmsteads, with a village chapel at its centre. This layout draws attention beyond individual buildings to the interplay between the green, the farmsteads and the chapel. A considerable portion of the historic buildings dates from the 1830s. This date provides a reference point for the area’s architectural history, but applies to part of the building stock, not to all the historic buildings.

The pilgrimage chapel of Panny Marie Matky Boží milosti stands in the Kyjovský les in Radčice. An oak trunk is built into the chapel, forming a distinctive architectural detail. The cemetery chapel preserves another story: after being recovered from the water, its bell was rehung in the chapel’s small tower in October 1945; it remains there to this day. Alongside architectural history, you can discover the story of a specific object and a striking feature of chapel architecture.
