Monastery tours and sightseeing routes

This includes their accommodation and meals, as well as their spiritual life, work and recreation. The tour visits restored areas of the new and old convents, as well as the cloister courtyard. The tour also includes the original interior of the princely library from the first half of the 20th century. The new “Klášter” and “Zámek” sightseeing routes opened to visitors on April 1, 2023. History of Kladruby: Monastery, Fortifications and Music
The Benedictine monastery of Kladruby u Stříbra was founded in 1115 by the Bohemian prince Vladislav I. An exhibition at the Kladrubsko Regional Museum covers Kladruby’s 900-year history, from the year the monastery was founded until 1945. Another exhibition focuses on the fortification system in the Kladruby area, the construction of light fortifications, structures in the surrounding area and excursion tips.
The Kladruby Czechoslovak Fortifications Museum consists of two vz. 37 light fortification structures. They were built in 1938 as the first line of defence against Nazi Germany and are located in the immediate vicinity of Kladruby Monastery. The monastery’s founding and the fortifications thus represent different historical themes. Exhibits and exhibition content may change; if you are interested in a particular topic, check what is currently on offer.
Kladrubské hudební léto takes place every summer in Kladruby Cathedral. Specific programme dates may vary. If you would like to combine your visit with the music programme, check the dates of individual events in advance.
