Accommodation in Chodská Lhota
Chodská Lhota combines village history and architecture with nature conservation and marked trails. The village square is home to the Chapel of St. Wenceslas and the monument to the victims of the First World War. The Německá hora Nature Monument is also located within the municipality. In addition, there are paved paths for walks, as well as marked hiking and cycling routes. Whether you are interested in local history, nature or outdoor activities, these features offer different reasons to include Chodská Lhota in your travel plans.
Village Square, Chapel and History
The Chapel of St. Wenceslas stands in the middle of the village square. It was built in the Neo-Gothic style at the end of the 19th century. Its architectural features include tall, narrow windows and an entrance portal with a pointed arch. The monument to the victims of the First World War is also located on the village square. The square thus brings together different historical points of reference: a chapel with clearly described architectural details and a monument to the war dead.
The village’s history dates back to a document issued by King John of Luxembourg on 16 March 1325. It lists Chodská Lhota among the eleven oldest Chod villages. The village was also involved in the well-known uprising that was suppressed in 1693. These two dates point to different historical contexts: the village’s early inclusion among the Chod villages and a later event in its history.
Nature and Trails
The Německá hora Nature Monument is located within the municipality. The area is home to nationally significant populations of specially protected plant and animal species, including prasetník lysý.
