Petrovice offers a range of options to consider when planning your trip: nature trails, the České Petrovice sports area, scenic views and historic buildings. Which of these is most important to you also depends on the time of year and your interest in trails, winter sports or local history.

Nature Trails and Routes

The Království přírodních sil nature trail has six stations with playful and educational features. It runs uphill along the ski slope and is about 700 m long, with an elevation gain of 100 m. At the end point near the observation tower station, you can continue on foot to Kašparova chata.

At Zemská brána, there is a 3 km nature trail suitable for families. The stone bridge there connects České Petrovice and Bartošovice. For planning purposes, the two nature trails differ in length: about 700 m for Království přírodních sil compared with 3 km at Zemská brána. An elevation gain of 100 m is also specified for the shorter route; the longer nature trail is suitable for families.

The yellow “Petrovická” route starts in the centre of České Petrovice at a trailhead with an information board. It is of moderate difficulty and runs along class III/3112 and II/311 roads, as well as field and forest paths. This specifies the difficulty and the different types of paths that are relevant when planning your route.

Sports Area in Different Seasons

In summer, the České Petrovice sports area offers an adventure zone with an inflatable obstacle course, trampolines, summer tubing, water tubing, a Zameták ride and a paddling pool. Mountain kart rides can also be booked there. As the availability of seasonal activities may vary, check what is planned for your travel dates before your trip.

The sports area offers a ski and snowboard school with a long tradition, as well as evening skiing on selected days. Lesson availability may vary by season; for evening skiing, check the dates that apply during your trip.

A ski and snowboard equipment rental shop is located directly below the ski slope. It has more than 100 equipment sets of different types, lengths and sizes, including equipment for children. The number of sets may change. The service workshop sharpens and waxes skis and offers a complete service; check the availability of equipment and services before you arrive.

Views and Local History

The Amálka observation tower is located at the upper edge of the sports area. Its viewing platform is on the roof of a wooden ski bar, about 7 m above the ground, and can be reached by 34 steps. The platform is freely accessible; operating or safety conditions may affect access. The upper viewing basket offers views of the Orlické Mountains and Poland. Check access before your visit.

The buildings also provide a historical point of interest when planning your trip. The original building of the Catholic Church of St. Peter and St. Paul (Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla) dates back to 1734; the church is dedicated to the Apostles Peter and Paul. Kaple na Adamu is a small stone chapel on the edge of the forest on Adam Hill, near the ski lift in České Petrovice.
