The town’s exhibitions cover a range of subjects alongside other cultural and historical destinations; above Králíky, a steep Stations of the Cross also leads to Hora Matky Boží. The natural attractions are part of the wider context of Králický Sněžník. These differences can help you decide which themes you want to shape your stay before booking.

Museums in Kraliky: history from different perspectives

The Králíky Municipal Museum displays objects documenting the history of the Králicko region. Specific exhibition details may change. The Králíky Military Museum focuses on a different subject, presenting the history of the Czechoslovak Army from its founding to the present day. Its military history exhibition on the army and national defence is open year-round. It is complemented by a demonstration ground for heavy equipment and Living History displays. Operating arrangements may change; check the latest information before your visit.

The permanent exhibition Mechanický betlém Antonína Honzáka is located on Velké náměstí. It began operating on 30 December 2025 and is intended to remain open year-round on a permanent basis. Access arrangements may change. Also on Velké náměstí is the Východočeský památník celnictví, a permanent, publicly accessible exhibition on the history of customs. It opened on 19 September 2018. While the Municipal Museum focuses on the Králicko region, this exhibition is devoted to customs. Check the latest opening arrangements before your visit.

Hůrka Fortress and protected cultural monuments

The Dělostřelecká tvrz Hůrka artillery fortress, also known as Berghöhe, Horka, Hofeberg and Výšina, was built on Výšina Hill, at an elevation of 666 metres, on the northern outskirts of Králíky. Its entrance area is 800 metres from the fountain in the town centre. The Church of the Archangel Michael in Králíky is a protected cultural monument. The fortress and church add further cultural and historical destinations to the exhibitions, with themes that differ from the museums’ regional and military history.

Pilgrimage route to Hora Matky Boží

The pilgrimage Stations of the Cross lead from the outskirts of Králíky steeply uphill through a lime-tree avenue to Hora Matky Boží. The avenue includes eight hexagonal Baroque chapels. The Marian pilgrimage site lies above Králíky at an elevation of 760 metres and is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Diocese of Hradec Králové. The route brings together specific features of the landscape and a destination of religious significance. Construction of the pilgrimage complex began in 1696; the church was consecrated on 21 August 1700. The route, elevation and building history are different aspects of the same pilgrimage site.

Nature in the surrounding region

The Králický Sněžník National Nature Reserve lies in the wider region of Králíky, within the Pardubický and Olomoucký regions. It includes Mount Králický Sněžník and a small section of the western ridge of Malý Sněžník. The many hiking and cycling trails in the wider Králický Sněžník region are a separate feature. They are suitable for both challenging outings and trips with families and children. When choosing a specific route, take the relevant conditions into account; these may change.
