Discover Lazce: Rope Centre, ASO Park and History
Accommodation in Lazce
If you’re looking for hotels in Lazce, it’s worth first exploring the destination’s activities and history. Lazce brings together a rope centre with children’s adventure programmes, a cycling route that passes through the area, and several historic landmarks. ASO Park also connects local history with a renewal announcement from February 2026.
Adventure Programmes and Play Area
Lanové centrum PROUD Olomouc – Lazce offers children’s adventure programmes featuring themed games, animated activities and climbing on rope obstacles. As part of these programmes, children can try high rope obstacles and a large adrenaline swing. There is a play area for the youngest visitors, suitable from age three. The activities range from games and animation to rope obstacles and the swing. Specific offerings may change, and activities are subject to operating conditions. Check with the operator in advance to find out which programme will be available during your visit.
Cycling through Litovelské Pomoraví
For cyclists, the route offers a concrete point of reference: the approximately 31.8-kilometre Relaxation Route through Litovelské Pomoraví starts at Horní náměstí, passes through Lazce and also runs through Lazce on the return journey. This means Lazce is part of the described route both on the way from Horní náměstí and on the return. The route length is approximate and should be treated as a guide.
ASO Park: Former Use and Renewal
The ASO Park site in Lazce was once a municipal shooting range and was used over a long period as a place for outings and various folk festivals. Its history therefore includes both former municipal use and a long tradition of leisure activities and festivals. On 10 February 2026, the City of Olomouc announced that the renewal of ASO Park had begun. At the same time, it asked people not to enter the area affected by the work. The announcement dates from that day; check current access to the affected area before visiting.
Historic Landmarks of Lazce
The earliest surviving written mention of Lazce dates from 1298. Also in 1298, King Wenceslas II gave the island of Lazce to the Poor Clares’ monastery at Předhradí. Both details refer to the same year but describe different events: the written mention on the one hand and the donation of the island on the other. The medieval settlement included a mill on Mlýnský potok.
In 1746, the original settlement of Lazce was demolished to make way for the construction of Olomouc’s fortifications. A later historical reference leads to Letná, an area of Lazce: Olomouc’s first football pitch was built there in 1914. The sequence spans the history of the medieval settlement, the construction of the fortifications and the city’s early sporting history. This gives us several distinct dates and themes through which to understand Lazce.
