Liboš combines historic religious buildings and monuments with a connection to the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area and cultural events. If you are looking for a hotel in Liboš, you can start by considering whether architectural history, the landscape or events will shape your stay.

Historic Buildings in Liboš and Krnov

The Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built in Liboš in 1732. In the past, a service was held there once a year, on the Sunday after May 3. This former date is part of the chapel’s history and adds a religious dimension to its construction date.

In the centre of the village, a Neo-Gothic sandstone column of the Holy Cross, dating from 1893, stands by the road. Its location, material and style give it a distinct character alongside the chapel. Neo-Gothic refers to the later revival of Gothic design forms; the column thus combines sandstone with a 19th-century style.

In the village district of Krnov stands the small, brick-built, vaulted Chapel of St Anthony of Padua, dating from 1871. It was built between the chapel of 1732 and the column of 1893. In Liboš, there is a wayside shrine on the road to Hnojice, as well as a coat-of-arms relief by Jiří Pavorin.

Landscape, Technology and Culture

At the edge of the village district of Krnov, the municipal area gives way to the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area. This transition adds a landscape perspective to the village’s historic buildings. It concerns the edge of Krnov and represents a different connection to the place than the individual monuments.

A technical feature is the water installation at the Liboš mill, which still generates electricity today. This power generation adds a different, technical dimension to the architectural and religious history.

A culinary highlight was the Libošský hodový koláč competition on September 13, 2025. Everyone could sample the entries afterwards. The event combines a competition with communal tasting, offering a different way to experience local culture than the village’s historic buildings.

Another cultural event is the Christmas exhibition at the Liboš library, with workshops for children. The exhibition and workshops have a different focus from the Libošský hodový koláč competition: here, the emphasis is on a seasonal programme involving children, while the competition is followed by a tasting. So if you are interested in local cultural events, these examples differ both in format and in season.

Plan Your Stay Around Your Interests

First, consider whether local history, the landscape at the edge of Krnov or a cultural event will be the main focus of your trip.
