If you are looking for a hotel in Hlubočky, it is worth deciding first what you want to focus on during your trip: protected woodland landscapes, a nature trail, leisure activities or historic sites. The options range from the Bystřice Valley to named destinations in Hlubočky and Hrubá Voda. The trails vary in length and route; the nature reserves can be distinguished by their woodland and floodplain landscapes.

Woodland Landscapes in the Bystřice Valley

The protected area of Údolí Bystřice includes the cadastral area of Hlubočky and stretches across 751 hectares in the valley between Smilovský mlýn and Hlubočky. Its predominantly well-preserved habitats include species-rich, acidophilous beech forests. Small areas of ravine forest are also present; in the south are oak-hornbeam forests and dry acidophilous oak forests. Remnants of mesic and wet meadows have been preserved in the river floodplain. The area therefore encompasses a variety of woodland and meadow landscapes.

Another natural area is the Hrubovodské sutě Nature Reserve on the slopes of the right bank of the Bystřice near Hrubá Voda, a district of Hlubočky. This geomorphologically varied area protects natural and near-natural forest ecosystems in the fourth and fifth forest vegetation zones. These include beech and fir-beech forests, ravine forests, and ash-alder forests along the river. Characteristic, endangered and regionally declining wild plant and free-living animal species are also among the natural assets under protection.

Nature Trails and Leisure Activities

The Údolím Bystřice nature trail is a 13-kilometre route marked in blue between the Domašov nad Bystřicí and Hrubá Voda railway stations. Its eleven stops cover nature, geology and the history of the landscape in the deeply incised valley of the Nízký Jeseník. Important for your planning: this is not a circular route. Check current trail conditions when planning a specific hike.

At more than one kilometre long, the Hrubík the Goblin nature trail is the shorter of the two trails described. Its seven informative and entertaining stops are aimed at families with children. Comparing the route lengths can help you choose between a longer linear route covering nature, geology and history, and a shorter trail with individual stops.

The toboggan run in Hlubočky has 17 bends: ten left turns and seven right turns. It also features two 360-degree carousels, a 45-metre-long bridge and a nine-metre-long tunnel. The Kamzíkova treetop trail at the Hrubá Voda resort has a different layout: it consists of climbing elements, slides and a rope maze at a height of 13 metres, and is suitable for children and adults. Before planning a visit, it is advisable to check the latest opening and admission conditions.

Church, Chapel and Hluboký Castle

The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus stands on the village square in Hlubočky, near Školní Street. Another chapel is located in Mariánské Údolí, near the Moravia factory: the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows. Their locations alone distinguish these two sites; Hluboký Castle adds another landmark to the historic destinations in the Bystřice Valley.

The first surviving written record of Hluboký Castle dates from 1351. The castle lies in the Bystřice Valley between the Hrubá Voda and Hrubá Voda–zastávka railway stations, within the cadastral area of the municipality of Hlubočky. The aristocratic residence was built on a rocky, tongue-shaped spur, with the river flowing around three sides of it. Its location and design distinguish this historic site from the churches and chapel in the village.
