Dobratice combines hiking destinations with local history: routes lead toward Prašivá, while nearby Žermanice Reservoir is a regional landmark connected to the hiking trail. In the village, historic buildings, the forest park and a regional nature trail also invite you to explore. This lets you plan your trip around the destinations and themes that interest you most.

Hiking Trails and Destinations Around Dobratice

The “Putování Dobraticemi” (Journey Through Dobratice) route is considered easy and is 6 km long. It joins the red-marked hiking trail toward Prašivá. The red hiking trail through Dobratice leads to the 706 m summit of Malá Prašivá. This gives you a choice between a named 6 km route and a trail with a summit as its destination. Trail conditions and markings may change; check them before setting out.

A tourist route from Dobratice to Prašivá runs mostly along paved paths and is also suitable for cycling. Nearby Žermanice Reservoir is part of the regional setting for the hiking trail; swimming and water sports are possible there. The trails also differ in their destinations: on Prašivá stands the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, dating from 1640; at the reservoir, you can enjoy activities on the water.

Local History and Historic Buildings

Ceramic finds in the Šprochovice district date the origins of Dobratice to around 1512. The first written mention of the village dates from 1580. These two dates refer to different historical evidence: the finds provide an approximate date for its origins, while 1580 marks the first written mention. Later, an independent parish was established in Dobratice in 1868.

The Church of St. Philip and St. James was consecrated in 1865. Another building connected with local history is the wooden bell tower, built by residents at the beginning of the 20th century. It stands on the tourist route toward Prašivá and serves as a rest stop for locals and visitors. The church and bell tower thus offer different points of interest if you want to combine architectural history with walks through Dobratice.

The Forest Park and the Prašivá Nature Trail

Dobratice Forest Park features numerous wooden play structures, a nature trail for children, an outdoor fitness area, a barefoot or sensory trail, and a disc golf course. There are also benches and wooden animal-shaped decorations. Individual facilities may change; check the information before visiting.

The Prašivá nature trail passes through Vyšní Lhoty, Raškovice, Pražmo, Morávka, Komorní Lhotka, Hnojník, Dobratice, Vojkovice, Horní Domaslavice, Nižní Lhoty and Nošovice. In each municipality along the route, information boards cover local features, historical facts, notable people, and historic and natural sights. Dobratice is therefore part of a nature trail whose themes extend beyond local history.

Plan Your Visit and Getting There
