Písek U Jablunkova offers specific starting points for planning a trip: cycling routes, protected landscapes and local history. If you are looking for a hotel, you can first consider which of these themes you want to shape your days. The cycling routes described offer different points of reference; nature and buildings add further interests.

Cycling: Routes through Písek and how to navigate them

Cycling Route 56 Bukovec–Bohumín passes through Písek and is part of the Krakow–Moravia–Vienna Greenway there. Cycling Route 10 Olše runs from Bukovec through Písek to Chotěbuz. In the centre of Písek, Cycling Route 6086 intersects Route 56. This describes both an intersection in the town centre and two routes with named endpoints.

The “Po stopách hutnictví” educational cycling trail runs along the Polish border to Nýdek, continues over the ridges of the eastern Těšínské Beskydy with beautiful views, and reaches Písek. The route is being developed in stages. The information provides different reference points for planning your rides: an intersection in the centre or a route across border areas and mountain ridges. Route conditions and signage may change; check them before setting out.

Bus route 783 is also a specific reference point for planning your journey: it connects Třinec, Jablunkov, Písečná, Písek and Bukovec. If you plan to travel by bus, check the current timetable and route, as both may change.

Plenisko, Slezské Beskydy and the Olše

The Plenisko Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral area of Písek U Jablunkova. Its landscape features include numerous waterlogged areas and the source area of the Bystrý stream. The 1998 regulation aims to protect natural, primeval-like forest stands with a gene pool of autochthonous firs, beeches, spruces and sycamore maples. The reserve is therefore notable both for its wet headwater areas and its distinctive forest communities.

The northeastern part of Písek lies within the Slezské Beskydy Landscape Area. Mountains and forests shape the landscape there, along with distant views and a high aesthetic quality. These features apply to the northeastern part of the village, not to all of Písek.

The Olše river corridor near Písek is a European Site of Community Importance in the Natura 2000 network. A section of the Olše in the Písek area has a predominantly stony to gravelly riverbed with frequent gravel deposits; the river course there is largely unmodified. The forest reserve and river corridor thus offer different nature-related themes for planning your trip.

Churches and linguistic influences

The new church of the Evangelical congregation in Písek was completed in 2010 and is considered architecturally very interesting. It is a specific point of interest for travellers who are interested in recent architectural history as well as landscapes and cycling routes.

The filial church in Písek is a simple building with a sacristy and rooms for congregation members. Its tower is made of concrete and bears a bell. The church was solemnly consecrated on 24 September 1995. These architectural details and the historical date provide a distinct, precisely dated reference point in the local history.

Písek U Jablunkova is also associated with a local Goralian dialect. This adds a linguistic facet of regional culture to the themes of cycling, landscape and churches.
