Discover Řeka
Accommodation in Řeka
Řeka is a mountain village in the deep valleys of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, beneath forested ridges. There are several different ways to plan a stay here: a designated hiking route, the landscape around Mount Godula, geological and historical points of interest, and a swimming pool with heated water. You can plan your trip around whether you primarily want to hike, explore the landscape or learn more about the village’s history.
Hiking and nature trail
The NS Stezka pokladů Godula nature trail starts in Řeka. It is 4.7 kilometres long and is rated as a moderate hiking route. These two details complement each other: the length describes the extent of the route, while the rating indicates its level of difficulty. This gives you a clearly identified trail with specific details to help you plan.
The nature trail explores the stone, forest and bird treasures, as well as the treasure of the bandit Ondráš and the treasure of faith. Its themes range from rocks, forests and birds to Ondráš and faith. If you choose a hike based in part on its subject matter, these themes offer another point of reference alongside the length and difficulty.
The Beskids and Godula
The mountain village lies in the deep valleys beneath the forested ridges of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. A considerable part of Řeka’s municipal area lies within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. The valleys and wooded heights form the village’s landscape setting; its location within the protected area is another aspect of the surroundings.
A closer connection to Mount Godula can be seen at the Godula quarry: it lies on Řeka’s northern edge, beside the main road, at the eastern foot of the 738-metre mountain. The quarry is within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area and is registered as a geologically interesting site. It exposes the middle section of the Godula Formation and appears to be the most suitable type locality for this formation. Godula is therefore significant not only for the landscape, but also for the area’s geological classification.
Local history and wooden houses
The year celebrated as Řeka’s founding is 1644. The village was formed through the separation of Smilovice and Gut. Two traditional wooden houses in Řeka are protected monuments. The village’s history thus brings together two distinct themes: its origins and its traditional timber construction. These historical points of interest complement the nature and hiking options when deciding how you would like to plan your trip.
Summer, excursions and swimming pool
During the summer months, Řeka is a good base for hikes through a peaceful part of the Beskids. Excursions from Řeka often head towards the Slavíč mountain hut. For planning purposes, you can consider the nature trail, with its stated length and difficulty, and excursions towards Slavíč as different hiking options.
Řeka also has a swimming pool with heated water. Access may vary by season. If a visit is important to your trip, check the current visiting arrangements in advance.
