If you would like to explore Schaub by bike, you can choose between a themed one-way route and a cycling route with a forest trail and gentle climb. The village and its surroundings also offer historical points of interest.

Cycling Routes and Themed Route

The Křížková cesta begins in the square in Žlutice, is marked with a logo, and leads via Pšov and Močidlec to Záhořice. Along the route, 22 statues or crosses and a dovecote have been restored. The one-way route and restored features offer different points of interest: the direction of travel matters when planning, while the monuments give the route a historical focus. Check the waymarking before setting out.

The Toužim–Rabštejn nad Střelou cycling route passes through Pšov and continues to the railway tracks, then follows a forest trail. Beyond the railway tracks, it climbs gently toward Mount Vladař. Compared with the Křížková cesta, this route focuses on the transition from railway tracks to forest trail and the climb that follows; the themed route, by contrast, passes through several named places. Before riding the Toužim–Rabštejn nad Střelou cycling route, check the trail conditions and signage, as conditions can change.

The 37 km section of National Cycle Route No. 35 is also a regional point of interest: it runs from Valeč via Chyše and Žlutice to Manětín and includes the Žlutice–Schaub–Manětín connection. A regional description updated on February 13, 2013, classifies it as moderately difficult and notes that it follows paved roads. As classifications and conditions can change, check this information before your ride.

Church and Historical Landmarks

The Church of the Sacred Heart in Schaub was built in 1914, and its interior furnishings from the time of its construction have been preserved. It stands in the western part of the spacious village green, directly below the bus stop. Its construction date, preserved furnishings and location are distinct historical points of interest. The church’s position on the village green places it within the village, while the interior furnishings connect it to the time it was built.

In the area around Schaub, northeast of the village, a freely accessible sandstone statue of St. Florian stands at the crossroads of the roads to Kolešov and Kobylé. Anton and Elisabetha Melcher had it erected in 1815. In 2011–2012, the statue underwent extensive reconstruction as part of the creation of a new educational trail. The crossroads provides a specific clue to its location; the dates distinguish its creation from its later reconstruction. Together with the Church of the Sacred Heart, the statue offers a second historical point of interest, but with its own story: here the focus is on the donors and the year 1815, while the church is associated with its construction in 1914 and its preserved furnishings.
