When planning a trip to Čardaci, three distinct highlights stand out: winter sports at the Rostovo Ski Center, hikes on Kalin and rural cultural heritage at the Babići Ethno Village. If you are looking for a hotel, you can first decide whether ski lifts, a mountain route or cultural experiences should shape your stay. The location and activity details provide concrete points of reference for making this decision.

Skiing at the Rostovo Ski Center

The Rostovo Ski Center is located at an elevation of 1,160 meters. Its ski slopes have a grass base and are equipped with a snowmaking system. The center has two Sidro drag lifts: one is 500 meters long and the other is 900 meters long. The longer lift is therefore 400 meters longer than the shorter one. Floodlighting makes night skiing possible; check seasonal operations before your trip. Ski equipment can be rented at the center, although availability may vary by season. There is a café-bar at the foot of the ski lifts, and its availability may also vary seasonally.

Hiking on Kalin

The Rostovo–Kalin hiking route is classified as moderate. A marked trail to the summit of Kalin starts at Hotel Rostovo; it passes through deciduous and coniferous forests as well as birch groves. Along with the trail rating, these landscape features provide further guidance when planning a mountain hike. The highest peak of Kalin reaches 1,530 meters above sea level. Orlovina Peak on Kalin offers views of the Vranica Massif. There is a spring at the foot of Kalin Peak; confirm the seasonal availability of water on site. Before setting out, also check the conditions of the marked trail.

Cultural Heritage and Activities in Babići

Rostovo has a small ethnographic exhibition featuring old houses, carriages and tools. Its presentation may change. The Babići Ethno Village showcases rural cultural heritage, with authentic blacksmith shops, stables, granaries and domestic animals. Guests can rent mountain bikes there; in winter, they can ride sleds through the village. Check the current availability of rental bikes and the seasonal sledding activity in advance. The Babići Ethno Village also offers accommodation in traditional wooden houses; check availability before your trip as well.

Hotel Location and Getting There

The ski slope is 100 meters from Hotel Rostovo. This distance is a concrete point of reference if the slope is a factor in choosing your accommodation. An asphalt road connects Bugojno to Rostovo; Rostovo is also on the Bugojno–Novi Travnik route. Check road conditions before driving in winter.

The difference between the two options can be clearly summed up: Rostovo is focused on ski lifts, slopes with a snowmaking system and night skiing that depends on the season; on Kalin, the highlights are the route classified as moderate, forest sections and summit views.
