Chapel of St. Roch
The Chapel of St. Roch is a small historic building; its construction permit dates from 1781. Its floor plan is rectangular, and the bell tower holds a bell. The altarpiece depicts Saints Roch, Fabian and Sebastian beside the Madonna and Child.
The present-day chapel stands in the middle of Turčići, beside the road. The Turčić family continues to look after the building. An earlier Chapel of St. Roch stood beside the former Church of St. Apollinaris, at the site of today’s old cemetery. Turčić is registered as a rural cultural and historical ensemble under code Z-7295.
A solemn Mass for St. Roch’s Day is held in the chapel on August 16. If you would like to plan your visit around it, check the current date.

The sacred heritage also includes sites with different historical dates. The Chapel of St. Andrew is considered the oldest surviving chapel in Dubašnica; it was originally Romanesque and dates from the 13th or 14th century. The Chapel of St. Nicholas in Strilčići was built in the 14th or 15th century. Remnants of murals survive on its south wall and on the walls of the sanctuary.
The permanent Cickini archaeological collection in Sv. Vid-Miholjice includes fragments of stone liturgical furnishings and decorated architectural sculptures. The House of Dubašnica Heritage is an old rural home built for two families around the mid-19th century. Workshops on traditional cuisine, forgotten skills, traditional music and the Glagolitic alphabet are held there. If this program affects your travel plans, check the availability of the workshops before your trip.
A long-standing tradition in Dubašnica is Sensa, which includes a shepherds’ race for cheese, popularly known as “Teć za sir.”
